Working my way in order thru the week of reactions, I'm predicting I'll get to Saturday's upload by tomorrow night at the latest if it's not in the recording dump that I'll do for tonight! Sorry for the wait!

2026-02-08 19:35:13 +0000 UTCThat's a cool touch along with the style they give each character to fit their country. And this is still crazy to me we really fighting on the track! I could tell based off the Japan horse's reactions that it's probably not that normal here. But I'm guessing its more normalized in other countries. They need to leave that overseas, I'm about to jump thru the screen if they keep boxing my horse Oguri!

2026-02-08 19:32:33 +0000 UTCRudolph's only loss was in the Japan cup to another Japan horse lol that's an acceptable L. Oh Im guessing Ellerslie is the New Zealand city that he's from, wish they couldve left it as bonecrusher I'd of been shook hearing that name. Lol and at least you got some back up to help you out with missing info now, still appreciate your help bro!

2026-02-08 06:09:49 +0000 UTCDetails for episode 17. Most of the major details will come in the next episode to avoid spoilers. ------------------------- Languages Forgot to mention this in the other comment, but in the manga, the characters actually all speak their native languages. Obey is the exception, as she switches between English and Japanese. ------------------------- Fighting for position This actually does happen sometimes in Japan too, but it can be penalized. One major example is in the 2012 Japan Cup, when Gentildonna shoved Orfevre out of the way to win the race. Gentildonna was still given the victory, but the jockey was penalized and the win was considered very controversial.

2026-02-08 01:47:11 +0000 UTCDetails for episode 16. Others have already mentioned the real names and the significance of the race so I’ll skip those. ------------------------- Previous Japan Cup winners from Japan 2:37 Rudolf was the previous Japanese winner and the second Japanese winner overall. Katsuragi Ace won the year before Rudolf, in Rudolf’s first ever loss. ------------------------- Inspiration for Ellerslie Pride’s name The real life horse has a statue with “The Pride of Ellerslie” written on the plaque.

2026-02-08 01:08:25 +0000 UTCIf you ever decide to watch some real life races, the 2025 Japan Cup just last november was a meme of race and totally is worth watching just for the insanity that it produced.

2026-02-06 22:38:47 +0000 UTCthe Japan cup is one of those races that continues to create legendary stories. As mentioned before, up until recently, Japan had restricted its domestic races from international competitors with the exception of the Japan Cup, where they sent out invitations to the best racers across the racing world and put an extremely high prize pool to draw them in. From its inception in the early 80s, only Katsuragi Ace (1984) and Symboi Rudolf (1985) have ever defeated their international competition. Cingray season 1 focuses on the year 1988 and the stakes were very high for Japan to reclaim its crown in this international race.

2026-02-06 22:37:46 +0000 UTCYesss we broke the Uma Curse 💀 lol I was gonna record through into the next two, but I had recorded these four back to back already. I can tell when my energy is getting too low to push for another hour. Rather rest up than have a reaction where i'm zoned out and missing stuff. This cliffhanger was insane though I'm hype to see what she's about to do!

2026-02-04 02:15:57 +0000 UTCAh yeah, this is the race I was trying to warn you about with those cliff-hangers. The 2nd cliff-hanger later in the season isn't as bad as this one, but we're past it now. Not much I can say here though without you having seen the end of the race, so I'll just add that the past two episodes have been free of the CinGray technical issue curse! Guess you broke free lol

2026-01-28 09:50:22 +0000 UTC24:26 - The graded racing system exists all over the world. The UK was the first to come up with it.

2026-01-27 00:07:27 +0000 UTCThey had to change some of the names slightly to avoid copyright issues with the real horses (since they come from all over the world): Tony Bianca = Tony Bin (Italy) Michelle My Baby = My Big Boy (USA) Obey Your Master = Pay The Butler (USA) Ellerslie Pride = Bonecrusher (New Zealand) Moonlight Lunacy = Moon Madness (UK) The most notable one here (from a historical perspective) is Tony Bin, who won the greatest race in the world, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (usually shortened as just "Arc" or "Prix") in France. The longlasting dream of the japanese horse racing community is to win that competition at least once, but so far they've only placed 2nd a couple of times throughout the decades (which is of course still a major achievement). Tony Bin is also the father of many popular Umamusume, some of which you will get to know while you continue through the series, such as Jungle Pocket, Winning Ticket and Air Groove.
