Yooo I LOVE shows that do small touches that not many are supposed to notice, this show has been doing it a lot. I had to go back to ep 6 to check out the outtro. Didnt even notice it's Jo running along her and then she leaves him right at the end. So cool! On top of all the small details of Sirius hitting the horse and Tamo eating extra, things you think are just funny extra to the plot but are actually historically accuarate things. Whoever directed the details of this show definitely loved horse racing.

Sirius Symboli's story is tragic! I dont remember seeing that in the previous comments. Yo they even fired the Jockey who tried to keep him there and still ended up making him worse. That's the tragic side of things when a horse dont want to race anymore or starts to decline it shouldnt get forced to keep doing it. I guess they couldnt predict the decline after going overseas, but biting his tongue off is insane. I know that jockey of Sirius hates the team for that one. It couldve probably had a bigger career staying home.

Details for episode 11: ----------------------------- Gold City In real life, Gold City was famous for being a very beautiful horse, which is why she is a model as her side job in Umamusume. ----------------------------- Tama eating more than usual 34:13 In real life, Tama started eating more before the Tenno Sho. His caretakers believed that it was because the water quality in Tokyo was better, which made him more willing to eat his food. ----------------------------- Sirius hitting the other characters Apparently Sirius actually did injure two horses before the race, and almost led to a physical fight between the horses' teams. The reason for his behavior was all of the stress and trauma from Europe. Lord Royal withdrawing was because of the injury. ----------------------------- Steamed Buns 40:35 This is a reference to an old Japanese Rakugo story, where a character pretends to be afraid of manjuu because he knows his friends will try to prank him by giving it to him. He then proceeds to eat it for free. ----------------------------- Outro You are right, the outro has changed over time. I don't know if you noticed, but there's a really cool change exclusive to episode 6.

Details for episode 10: ----------------------------- Horse Steam 2:36 You are correct, horses, like humans, emit steam due to sweat evaporation in the cold. ----------------------------- Season 2 Actually, all 23 episodes are part of season 1, just cour 1 and cour 2. Based on how much content there is left in the manga, there is probably enough content for 2 more seasons of similar length. ----------------------------- Akitsu Teio Akitsu Teio's real name is Nippo Teio, and he was the father of Haru Urara, one of the most popular characters in the series. ----------------------------- Tama winning the Takarazuka Kinen For context as to why this is so impressive, the Tenno Sho that she won before this is the longest G1 race. This makes her the strongest long and medium distance runner at the same time. ----------------------------- Sirius Symboli Sirius was Rudolf's nephew, and one year younger. I'll copy something I wrote in a comment on another video here: According to a 1995 article in the Yuushun, Sirius was the only horse on the Symboli Farm that could rival Rudolf in training. Rudolf was so much more capable than the other horses that they would have 2-3 horses run in a relay race against him, but they would still lose. However, Sirius was able to beat Rudolf in a one on one race in front of a crowd of reporters, and both horses were apparently giving their all and abnormally aggressive toward each other. Sirius actually ended up becoming the winner of the Japanese Derby, but was sent to Europe by his owner in order to find international success. His jockey protested and was extremely against this, and ended up getting replaced. After coming back from Europe, Sirius was extremely traumatized and was unable to ever race the same as he had before. According to other comments, he bit off half of his tongue due to the stress. His original jockey was appalled by the condition that he returned in. He had tremendous potential, but it was squandered due to his owner's greed. Rudolf was also supposed to be sent abroad, but his team managed to come to a compromise with the owner to stop him from going. This was in part due to being injured at the time, and the decision may have saved his career. He was still sent abroad later on though, and had to retire from desmitis after his first race there.

Oh no I have big respect for the racers and getting to this final tournament. It's just when the whole story is in the perspective of Oguri Cap she just blasts the whole competition making this effect of everyone seem more irrelevant than they actually are lol which I know Oguri is just an insane anomaly in this whole horse racing competition but the way she blast each race and moves on to the next so quickly it's hard to be as attached to each horse's achievement of being here. I think Fujimasa had the most screentime of building up her respect as a character and her efforts of keeping up with Oguri but beyond that everyone else is kinda "side characters" in Oguri's overall plot just because shes SO good. After seeing Oguri wasnt actually in that other race, I liked seeing the Sakura character stand there and cry over her achievement of winning. But it doesnt happen often since Oguri is a god and Im also a bit competitive so I'll hype up Oguri more than the others she's currently racing against too even if theyre good. Sorta like Michael Jordan in the NBA, I get everyone worked hard to be in the NBA but MJ overshadowed all their hardwork to the point where we just wanted to see him dunk on everybody lol

~~Sirius Symboli my beloved. Yes I'm one of them for those who know~~ Ahem, anyway. Nothing much to answer here that wasn't already answered in the comments last week, since you recorded both in one go, so I'll just add that I am hyped for episode 12 and 13! I will say though that the Autumn Tenno Sho coming up is my favourite race in the series so far, and I think you'll see why :) Other than that, two things I'd like to say: Most sites probably list it as Season One and Two respectively, but it is technically just one season split into two halves (cours). So you can continue straight off with Cour 2 if you want, although no worries if you take a break. We all had to wait six months after all, aha. Second, the same stutter issue from last time has persisted, but is likely isolated to this one specific recording session you did, since I've not noticed it in other videos on the patreon page. I will add timestamps of stutters I noticed in a reply to this comment.

I think it's worth noting that: - G1 is considered the highest grade of races. The order is G1 > G2 > G3 > ... - Twinkle series is the stand-in for Real Life horse races. So basically, the races Oguri has been running since she came to the central. Oguri couldn't participate in the classics because she missed the registration deadline. That's why she's taking a different path and racing with her seniors. Which is great because looks like Tamamo Cross will be her real challenge at the national. This next race is going to be PEAK!!!

Kenshiro Toki

The series doesn't explain this very well, but *any* G1 win is a huge deal. You have to remember that the vast majority of horses never even get into a G1 race to begin with. Someone like Sirius Symboli for example didn't "just" win the Derby, she won one of the most important races in Japan, and participated in the greatest race in the entire world, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in France (usually shortened as 'Arc'). Even just entering into the Arc competition is one of the highest honors in the racing world. These are not irrelevant background characters, but champions all of their own. There are many factors why a horse wins or loses a race: Whether it's in a familiar environment for the horse, if it had to be transported, the climate, the condition of the track, the weather, how much time to rest there was between races and so on. It's why some horses that absolutely dominated in Japan perform badly when sent to other countries and vice versa.
