Heads up! Patreon and their Sales Tax on July 1st?! (OA O/ ;;;)/

Hello guys, I hope you guys are doing well today!

I won't beat around the bush so we'll be talking about Patreon.......and their Sales Tax implementations starting July 1st. (Oh boy, I didn't want this to happen tbh... :/)

Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon is required to start charging sales. I want to inform you all that you might see some changes that might affect your pledges.

Based on what Patreon wrote for a sample copy we could share with you guys about this new rule of theirs, this is what's written:

Less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in the US range from 4% to 11%, so on a $5 pledge, that would be between 20 cents and 55 cents. 

Whether or not you will be charged sales tax depends on your location, and what is considered taxable there. Not every pledge is taxable, not all benefits are taxable in every location, and sometimes only a fraction of a pledge will be taxable. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws are paid directly to local governments.

I understand this is happening with regards to the pandemic affecting the economy of every country out there.  I do hope that there's still something I can do with regards to lowering this sales tax of theirs. If there is, I'll lower them.

I do believe everyone will be receiving an email from them with regards to this. I think they said they'll email Patreon subscribers on June 1st? But I might've remembered it wrong. I do advice to keep your eyes open for that email of their's too.
