2023-04-06 22:03:28 +0000 UTCDangerously in love did not have the cohesion we expect in todays terms… the focus was on what Beyoncé was capable of ….in the same vein this is what Chloe’s debut was all about but with slight more cohesion….an album about different types of heartbreak with different genres and ways to show and illustrate heartbreak. The point of this album, in my opinion, was to show that Chloe is capable of conquering All genres while also showing us where she is mentally. This was a solid debut showcasing her abilities in most genres, r&b;(looze u), alt r&b(feel me cry, worried), ultra pop (body do), Afro beat (don’t mind), gospel (pray it away), 00’s ultra pop (told ya), ballad pop (in pieces) , country (cheatback), traditional R&B (how does it feel) … hip hop r&b (make it look easy)….To me, as a 35 year old, who has loved Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child since I was 10 years old, I understand what the goal was for this album, to show Chloe’s talent and versatility and NOT put her in a box….only to show where she is mentally while also showing her versatilty…not to show a specific genre or “genre” target audience…only a specific mental audience

2023-04-04 21:04:54 +0000 UTCYesss the writing was another thing that just didn’t stick for me! Someone like Leon Thomas III or Victoria Monet could really help in that department!

2023-04-04 15:11:42 +0000 UTCI really really wanted to love the album from top to bottom but I only downloaded 5 songs which are: Pray it away, worried, make it look easy, looze U, cheatback. I can’t say that it’s bad because to my ear it’s not bad music just a lot was not sticking for me. It’s not an album I’d be like omg play that Chloe album or I’m rushing to play it myself in the car. I’d say it’s good for a short night drive and your sad or just decide to put something on… and when it comes to my own taste of R&B music I like some of the songs just felt like it was very repetitive or something I have heard before. Or just too slow I’m not a ballad type of girl give me like 1 or 2 on an album and I’m set lol but I do think overall she just needs to probably collaborate with someone for the writing I’m a sucker for great lyricism and I think that’s something she could work on or just get someone in that studio with her to help her expand upon her writing process i honestly am rooting for her. Yeah I give the album a 6 rating but I wish her the best in her artistry all love here. I also love your reviews Zach keep doing what you doing 💕

2023-04-04 14:40:19 +0000 UTCI agree. I’m starting to think ppl do these think pieces for them to bash, intentionally. If you don’t like it (your opinion), you don’t have to go on a rabbit train where others would find it and jump on to help fit their narratives. And these back handed compliments. Whew. She’s happy with what she put out. She said it. It’s a body of work about heart break. How is that now easy to see?
Yo, STFU.
2023-04-04 13:21:05 +0000 UTCSo right now Chloe is 24 right, and I get her not being in the same place she was in a year ago, 2 years ago or 3 years ago…but as fans we’ve only gotten small tastes of music for the past few years and I feel like this album was a collection of songs and not a cohesive body of work. Doja was able to create a beautiful album like Planet Her because she has just put out Hot Pink right before that to focus on making the body of what that is planet her and Rihanna put out an album damn near every year of her 20s that matched how she felt at the time (none of those albums were the exact same back when she was in her MTV bag). Nobody expects her to be in the same place she was in the year before but she never gave us a chance to get into her music via an EP or mixtape beforehand so this album is all we have to judge her music on and as TALENTED as she is, I don’t think this album is the best first impression given how long we’ve been waiting for Ms Bailey to arrive. The standards are high because she’s capable of being a high caliber artist

2023-04-04 12:43:37 +0000 UTCMy thing with the album is yes I agree it felt rushed. And I wish some of the songs were longer. However, I did love some songs and I related to at least 2 songs. I love Pray it away for her vocal performance. I love body do. I LOVE make it look easy. I relate to that song so much. And her vocals are amazing on that track. She did right on that one. Heart on my sleeve should’ve been a full song. And I love that one. I love worried. I love told ya especially cause my fav missy on that one and it was perfect for them both and I love in pieces. Her vocal arrangement for that song and the words were so touching and heartfelt. She sang like an angel. Other than that the other songs were okay. I wish she had longer songs for the album but other than that. It’s a good attempt of an album

2023-04-04 11:57:34 +0000 UTCI haven't watched your reaction yet, because I wanted to leavey comment first to see if we really think alike because most times it's like you be in my head. I have loved the sisters as a unit and individually, and I find it hard to believe this album came from Parkwood ( Beyonce's company) not comparing it to any Beyonce nor Destiny's Child album I just remember the Bailey sisters saying that Beyonce listen to their albums and will send notes back if anything needs to be changed or not and there is no way Beyonce ears heard this album and let it out into the world 🌎. I feel as Chloe has produced way better songs on The Kids are Alright and Ungodly Hour, she has sang waaau better on those albums hell even on IG live doing covers. IDK why or who had her depressed in her feelings prior but I wish she would have stuck to the plan and vision for the album she originally had. 1. This Should be an EP not a full first album roll out or least tell me this part one and part two is coming in the Summer. 2. I HATE THE 2 minutes songs, Give us Full songs two verses chorus bridge/ breakdown. 3. STOP having unnecessary features that do nothing for the song, i.e Latto and Chris Brown were not needed on either song and #Howdoesitfeel was a waste of a Classic Beat by Usher. 4. The order of the songs on the album didn't make any sense, it didn't flow cohesively for me which bothers me I listened to this album in the car 4 times hoping it would make sense to the definition she gives in interviews lately and it doesn't. 5. Pray it Away could have been THE SONG for her, but too damn short and she sings " take it to Church" yet she never does vocally at all, it's like she song it well enough just okay but for what the words are and how she wants to feel in that song it could and should be more powerful than what it is. 6. LOVE # BODYDO but too short. 7. HATE #IDONTMIND it's like it's just put there to Fuck up the flow and I don't like the song sound at ALL should not have been on the album could have put #Surprise or #treatMe in it's place. 8. Love #ToldYa #Cheatback could have done without Future but he's not bad on the song it goes along #LooseMyself #InPieces are good but still feel like something was missing. 9. WHY HOW THE FREAK THEY DIDN'T PUT #HAVEMERCY on the album it was her 1st solo single that was A BOMB ASS SONG on her 1st Solo Album

2023-04-04 11:53:01 +0000 UTCZach!! We always see eye to eye!! I have love Chloe since the first time I heard her and her sister!! This was suppose to be her album, her time. I love the music. I just think the album doesn’t tell a story. I wanted more r&b. Just pure vocals. An a cappella song would’ve been dope. Just her using her voice to do everything!!

2023-04-04 06:55:07 +0000 UTCIt sounds like people expected something but she gave them something different. Her choice right. It is her music. I personally enjoyed the album. It’s well put together. For her to produce all but 2 tracks, she did that. Everything had its own sound.
