Language Translations Poll

Hello peepo! The update is almost here and I will be making another detailed MoolahMilk update post tomorrow, but for today, I just want to make a quick poll.

I've been working on quite a few things to improve the game after the season ends. One of them have been suggestions to include other languages as official translations. I am absolutely surprised by the sheer number of DA fans who do not even speak much English.

I think it will be awesome for patrons to be able to access official translations and not have to search shady translations from other sources.

I just want to gauge actual demand for such translations. I am also interested to know which languages are the most popular amongst our patrons and I will search for help to translate into those languages first.

So please take the time to fill up the poll!

Each version update is waiting for Chinese Chinese,Too much to look forward to

Hi there, it would be nice to get a german language in the game. I even can help you sometimes with that. I'm normaly speaking german so it would be it easy for me^^

Phi KID

Ah cool, so it won't actually add a lot of file size to the overall game. Good deal.

Nathan Clark

It's fairly easy. You won't need a large file size as it's only text. In any case, if it's done I will probably upload it as a patch.

MoolahMilk

I will be doing a work around at the end of season 1 and allow patch downloads for future updates.

MoolahMilk

Yes we will have to search for good translators.

MoolahMilk

Yeah I get that. But I will definitely outsource the translation work. It will allow us to reach a larger audience as well. But we'll see if it's worth it!

MoolahMilk

Out of curiosity however, if you're going back through the game and having to translate everything I don't know computer stuff so I guess the question would be how much more difficult would it be usually create another copy of the game with the chosen language as the only option because I know that would save file size I just don't know how much harder would be for you to host it?

Nathan Clark

Being an English speaker I'm good with where it is but I can understand the need for additional languages. I chose Chinese because it's the third most spoken language in the United States after Spanish and English and the second most spoken language in the world after English

Nathan Clark

Agree with Stefan here, just stick with english. More language pack also means bigger file size...

Until you can provide real good translations, just stick with English.

Don't do French, I'm native and there is no reason for one to not be decent in English. They just have to open google translate on their phone while playing. I did the same while watching AGT and it works.

Redjs

As much as I think you're doing a good thing trying to be inclusive to other language speakers, I think it would be best to focus on English first so as to not slow you down on translations and so you can focus on writing your awesome game.

BigRedBeast

Just stick with English. Translations sooner or later always require a change in meaning and some idioms are pretty much impossible to translate. Also, as a German: please no German translation.
