MoolahMilk Mondays Episode 9

Hello peepos! What is up! Another week and another update post! This week I watched a lot of videos on storytelling and I stumbled upon some short clips of Pixar films. There is this movie called Up which I watched long ago and it reminded me what a great piece film it is! One of my favorite movies of all time which puts a tear to my eye every time I see clips of it. 

Really inspiring as Pixar have mastered the art of emotional storytelling and great cinema without the need of a complex plot. The clip I watched is a short montage of Carl's and Ellie's married life and what is amazing about it is that they do not require a full length movie to create depth and emotional attachment to the characters. A simple 3 minute montage is sufficient to reveal everything from character motivations to their inner journey. 

I wish I could develop a skill like that! I'm always frustrated at the lack of time and can't wait to show more depth to each character in DA but you don't really need a long complex backstory to establish connection with each character. Even a simple event is enough if done right! Definitely looking to be able to do that in future. 

Anyways, it's time for some info on the coming update and some nice spoilers. 

• 0.7 Progress.

I've completed the arcs of Beatrice and Tracy/Vix which results in some nice lewds and a decent resolution. There's so much more to them but I think I've done it to a point where we can leave them off. 

*Woohoo we gonna get our first group scene in the game. FIREEEEEEEEE!

There is one more girl remaining to complete Chanel's Bar Quest of recruiting 3 different girls to the club (Older patrons might remember who it is but new ones maybe you guys don't know. So it will be a surprise when u see it. I will not post any spoilers of her hehehe) *Hint* She will be very different to all the characters we've seen so far. Variety is the spice of life. 

I've done some parts of her but it's challenging because completing an arc requires me to establish the character, introduce the conflict and have the conflict resolved (At least reach some resolution point). 

You all already know that a main issue we are facing is resolving arcs in each update so this is what I'm trying to do. It's definitely a new skill required to design a game in an episodic manner and since this is a lewd game, it also means I have to work on lewd scenes for each arc to give resolution. Which means more damn animations and more time. It's gonna be another 100+ animation update in a short timeframe so yay! 

Doggystyle is a humans best friend.

To add to that, it's not enough to resolve each character as it is part of a bigger arc (three girls individual arc > Chanel bar quest arc). So that means in order to really resolve it, I must complete Chanel's bar quest by tying all three girls together with Chanel sequence. After which I have to find a nice spot to cliff hang to tempt the player to wait for more. 

Poor Beatrice getting bullied all the time. 

I really want to start including the bar mechanics when all the girls start working there so that the player can start earning money but I'm not sure if I can finish it in time. Again, if I put a half assed mechanics people are gonna complain again for useless buttons or unfinished stuff. Furthermore, I don't wanna redo the stuff in future so I wanna make sure the mechanics is good. In this case, maybe it's better to leave the mechanics for now. There's nothing much to buy yet anyway and new players are just gonna have to grind for stuff with the computer money for now. I will  add a little money cheat in the computer for patrons so that they can skip the grinding. 

Also, I'm wondering if I will have time to fill up some of the main story progress for MC and main storyline. So we shall see. 

I'm really aiming to release before the month is over so speed is my energy! Let's go! 

• Reaching our milestone

 I'm quite excited as it means we have the whole new bar arc completed and we are one step closer to our milestone!

All that's left is the Total Defense Party, End of Church case, Sages Explosion, Completing Moon and Mia arc, Filling up the holes of the Therapist, and some MC and backstory scenes. 

Finishing all that means, we are home sweet home Alabama! I can then continue the main story and reveal the first major twist and inciting incident which will hopefully set us on a our path to the next level!  

Believe it or not, all the work we've done on DA up to that point is just the introduction! We are still in the "ordinary world" and haven't crossed the threshold yet. Soon we can establish our hero's true objectives and set him on his deviant journey. Also, that means more screen time for much maligned characters like the girls at home and the whole drama with the demon, dreams, good Samaritan and all that jazz. We will also open the new school and preggo farm in future so much opportunities to be absolutely deviant. 

 Hopefully by that point, this game will feel like an actual meaty game and gain more fans! 

• Top 50 patron games

Thankyou so much for supporting me and making my dreams come true. My goal is to break into the top 50 lewd games on patron and being able to do so with my first game would be a wonderful achievement. It would be a beautiful day. Can we do it this year? Something to work towards and keep motivated!
