Today I will start work on v0.2. There's already about 10% worth of content which isn't released in the demo.
Here's what's on the agenda.
1 Case: "Spear of Longinus" - I will release teasers throughout the process.
1 Sidequest: "Sage's Jealousy"
5 Mia events
5 Sophia events
5 Main events

This update will reveal more about the world and we will see much more action.
There will be progress with the girls at home as well.
The playtime of the update will be longer than the demo. v0.2 is targeted to be released within a month.
The demo didn't get the response I had hoped for thus I did not do the full marketing push for the demo release. v0.2 will receive a full release and marketing push so it will be epic!
I'm always open to suggestions and feedback so feel free to express yourself on discord in terms of what you would like implemented. You are as much part of this process as I am.
I've learnt a lot about my work on feedbacks given for the demo so I'm confident the game will be even better next update.
Much love!

Be careful with rushing the story. Tell the story you want to tell and people will respond to it. I think the detective setting allows for a more slowburn beginning. Speeding things up a little to introduce the main conflict and stakes can be a good idea, but be careful because if it escalates too fast it becomes a bit jarring, like you said.

If it's rushed it will have negative consequences for the game... And: It's your game, so you decide when somethings happen.... If you planned/flashed your story out (for future) maybe reread it and then decide if things are to slow/to fast or excatly the way you wanted. If your next 2-3 updates get a solit foundation to build on that... that will be great... but don't set the pace to fast.
2020-11-06 18:16:23 +0000 UTCYou hit the nail on the head with some points! It was exactly my thoughts as well. 1. Regarding NTR I'm not planning this to be an NTR game. However, I feel that certain antagonists are crucial to the story to add tension and make payoff more rewarding. Moe is just a sleazy guy who helps introduce certain game mechanics. But later on, I do plan on introducing more villains for the MC to overcome. However, of course they are there to be defeated. I'm not so worried abt this point as I know what players want. NO NTR. But the threat looms. 2. MC Here's the thing. I didn't discover this until I started writing my own game. There's a reason why main characters in movies are always so stupid. (Jon snow anyone?). If you observe, there is always a cool character to balance the stupidity, usually antihero. ie Naruto-Sasuke. It serves many functions and purposes. The key is the execution itself. It's even more difficult for games like this because people immerse themselves as the MC and don't see him as a character. I didn't take into account that the demo is extremely important and I'm working on a limited timeframe. You're right that the first 2-3 updates will decide if the game gets completed. In response to that, I've decided to speed up the arc. I already have several arcs planned but I'm gonna speed it up and introduce a major conflict in the next update. Only worry is that it is too jarring and feels forced and I'm unable to tell the story that I wanted to tell.
