Hypnosis in real world work that way you just said~ it needs desire from the patient for it to works. Unfortunately in fantasy comic, Hypnosis commonly and mistakenly portrayed as a mind control things, to make things easier i write it as Hypno gear or Hypno beam, but in real world it has nothing to do with hypnosis or trance/ meditation technique. But yes, deep down they're wanted to be cared, in this case Ruu are secretly wants to be humiliate by someone, lol #run while being chased by every hypnotheraphy professional

So I assume he just wants to be cared for, manifesting in him being brought down to the mental state of a infant. So I,E, he subconsciously wanted something like this to happen.
