[un]Divine game dev update #7

Despite a super busy month, I got more game stuff done than I thought! ✨

Lots of BGs got cleaned up and news ones sketched, plus I had to redraw 2 completely bc I realized what was "off" about them. For example:

One of the first BGs I sketched months ago so I didn't consider that the composition here was too awkward for a player to navigate. At first glance, how would someone know the exit is at the bottom? So my new rule of thumb is having all exits be clearly visible. In the new version the building's entrance and staircase are noticed right away and I expanded the BG further to have more room for better conversation angles. I've had to redesign/redraw some of the front doors of the west and east buildings to correspond to the new changes too.

ANYWAYS I'm going to lock in and get the rest of the BGs sketched out in November to where I can start programming more! (and designing NPCs, etc)

The sprites animation is going steadily too! My pal Jessica (Maskii) has finished another direction ⬇️ and I hired a second animator to do Esther's sprites (which are too rough to share yet)~

These were the last notes I sent Jes before they finished!
