Patreon Pin Up 9/1/25: The Recluse

It's time for another good old self-indulgent pin up about what game I've been playing lately. And this time it's Elden Ring: Nightreign!

For the uninitiated, Elden Ring is what you call a "souls" game. A genre defined by a handful of consistent design characteristics such as extreme difficulty, minimal guidance for the player, and an objectively terrible storytelling style. Elden Ring is one of my favorite games ever made. So when a multiplayer spinoff was announced, I was all over it.

Along with Kaldonis and another friend, I tackled the first boss, a Cerberus armed with a buster sword....and he bodied us every single time we played for a full month. Again, this was the first boss. The first of eight.

But then it happened. One fateful night, we finally beat him. And it was probably the single most joyous moment I've ever had playing a video game. We were on the verge of giving up on the whole game when we won at last. And after that, the rest of the bosses the game had to offer fell like dominoes by comparison to how much we struggled on that first fight with the wolf. As much as I love Elden Ring, when all is said and done I might like Nightreign even more.

So what's to say about today's pin up, the mysterious Recluse? Well, I don't know. I never played as her. Her combat mechanics confused the hell out of me at first glance so played as a bird with a shield and had no regrets. I do think she's hot though. So here we are! Hope you like her! :D
