It seems like about half the time when I attempt to cut ahead for comedic effect, people just think they missed a page. Did it happen for you this time?
In Millie's defense, being the healer is a famously thankless role that can be a tough sell to many. When engaging in a vicarious fantasy adventure it's not unreasonable for one to want to be a flashy sword-swinging ass-kicker, not a support character meant to prop up others. Growing up, I don't think I ever played in a group that had a dedicated healer. We were all playing just a bunch of legally distinct Aragorn and Legolas ripoffs competing to be the "main" character. Every damn chest we found had to have healing potions in it or we were all dead meat after a battle or two.
Meanwhile here comes Necromancer Nadine! It may have come up in the visual novel that Kal (the current game master in this comic, as opposed to my real-world coworker) went to Castlewood High and she scared the hell out of him back in the day. I loosely based her look off of Odette from a game called Odin Sphere. It's not easy to make a hot zombie from a design standpoint, so whenever I see it pulled off well it stands out to me.
We're coming up on the end of the story now. Anything in particular you'd like to see next? Maybe I'll switch back over to pin ups for a couple of months? I'd love the input if you have it.
