Patreon Pin Up 1/29/24: Betty Rubble

Betty just barely beats Wilma in this month's Discord Poll! I got the idea for the Flintstones theme after watching a mini doc about the 90 live-action movie on Youtube from a channel called Hats Off Entertainment. Highlights include that the reason there was never a chronological sequel is because John Goodman had zero interest in returning, and that when Rick Moranis learned of Rosie O' Donnell's casting as Betty, he quipped that "she should have played Fred." Amazing what you could get away with before social media.

I remembered Betty and Wilma having more or less identical personalities (more on that in a minute) but I had it pointed out to me that Betty was more giggly and Wilma was more stern, which sounds right. Anyhow since Betty is a married character I've drawn her cheating because that is my way. It raises a question though: how does one get away with a steamy affair when every appliance in the house is a sentient animal capable of speech? If you blow the plumber, do you have to bribe the garbage disposal to keep what it saw a secret?

I'm old enough to remember a time when The Flintstones was a regular fixture on Cartoon Network. It originally aired in the 60's and you do not need a documentary to tell you that. Just watch it for five minutes and the archetypes of the era are clear as day. The men are cocky bumbling oafs who only care about red meat and bowling, and the women are generally materialistic nags who only care about jewelry and pampering. It's still pretty fun for what it is, though. It's easy to forget that The Flintstones was not originally marketed as a kid's show, and that it was the first cartoon to air in a prime-time slot. It had more in common with something like The Simpsons than Scooby-Doo. Long before Flintstone Kids vitamins, Fred was hawking cigarettes in animated commercials for crying out loud.

That's all I've got for now. If you know of some trivia you'd like to share or have suggestions for other classic cartoon ladies I should give a try, let me know in the comments! :)

Yes and no. Bettyโ€™s kid was. He just showed up on the doorstep with no explanation. Wilma was properly pregnant. She was the first animated character ever to be depicted pregnant, in fact.

Don't worry, Courtney's story is for the strips rather than the pin ups. It will continue this Monday! :)

Reinbach

Same! :)

Hey I remember that now that you mention it! The kids were stork-delivered, right?

Jane was almost included in this vote but I wasn't confident I could make that crazy hair of hers look right in my style. XD

Reinbach

Thanks!

Reinbach

That does make more sense! XD

Courtney's story continuing vs. a cartoon character from the 60s...? But...TRW 340 has to be one of your most erotic pages ever... incredible!

Love Betty! The Flintstones and the Jetsons will always have a special place in my perverted little heart.

George

Wow, I never knee it was as old as the 60s, or that it was never meant for kids. You've taught me something today. Good job. And great art like always.

Sophia Dearden

Penelope Pitstop is just beginning for a gangbang.

MAR

I remember Flintstones being a staple as well. Do you remember when Weird Al did his Flintstones song? It was great, but then for a time on TBS they had him hosting episodes where he would talk about his favorite episodes. Good times

Cat: "Well, I would *go* with Betty... but I'd be thinking about Wilma."

Squid Hills

Do eet!

Truly glorious! Who doesn't love a big titted Milf cheating with a stud? Fun fact: Betty was never pregnant to begin with and, surprisingly for a cartoon at the time keeping in line with what you said about the show not being your average cartoon for the time, COULDN'T get pregnant. Bamm-Bamm just showed up on the Rubble's doorstep.

Faqt3

Betty cheating is Jadakiss ๐Ÿ”ฅ wouldn't have her any other way

Jariah Synn

Nice! Thick legs and beautiful round breasts, plus the naughtiness of cheating (interracially, even) with a big dick pumping her full of cum. I dig the motion lines and the blurriness (though MAYBE the nipples could have darker lines instead of the ones that are almost entirely faded?). The pussy hair is particularly really well done- every little line is visible so it's not just a "tuft". Regarding classic cartoon ladies, I recall the oldest daughter in the "Chan Clan" was quite the sexy little piece. Maybe Ursula from George of the Jungle. I forget if you've done Josie & The Pussycats before. If you extend this to puppets, Lady Penelope from Thunderbirds, lol.

ScuzzBucket

I've been very close to doing a Flintstones mini-comic myself several times. Betty is truly a toon MILF icon.

Karmagik

Betty is so fine! I hope she does ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Epocseer

cheating ftw

The Flintstones was also a parody/homage to an earlier TV series The Honeymooners. Fred was very much a prehistoric Ralph Kramden.

Mark W

Also, if you're looking to keep your "sexually frustrated housewives of Hanna-Barbera" theme going, you KNOW Jane Jetson must have had a full-body fuck-machine, that she used as casually and as often as women use their vibrators today.

K-Box

Great take on her appearance, considering how simplistic her design is.

NKL

Point of order: Although all of the appliances were talking prehistoric animals, their snarky remarks were never actually heard by the human characters, and were instead directed toward US, the audience.
