Reinbach messed up his eyes and now the page is running late.

It's been a rough week for the golem, folks. I'm no stranger to eye strain, but I've never had anything like this before. When I woke up today it felt like the light was punching me in my eyeballs every time I opened them. I'm no doctor, but I think it's quite vital that I take a break from backlit screens of any kind for at least a day or two.

I apologize for the delay. I'll be back at it as soon  as I am able.

Couldn’t hurt.

I do but I never use them. Seems as though it's time to?

High fives! Once I settle down for real, it is indeed time to invest in a better monitor.

Reinbach

Worthwhile advice once I get back home. By that I mean since I knew my Florida stay would be temporary, I bought the cheapest monitor (and tv) walmart had to offer since I knew I wouldn't be taking anything with me.

Working on it, thanks!

Thank you!

Thank you! I actually bought a pair of light blocking glasses ages ago, but stopped using them because it didn't seem like I needed them. Feels pretty dumb in hindsight lol.

Reinbach

Much appreciated!

Do you have gaming glasses dude?

Only 3D boobs for a few days? Might as well not bother getting out of bed.

I went OLED instead of LED and I no longer have eye strain. OLED cheap now so go for that screen for your work. OLED creates it's own light with pixel tech, LED has a backlight that irritates eyes overtime. Take care, amigo! Love ya!

Recommendation (though might be something you already know): Invest in a color calibration device, even a basic one is enough, and use it to calibrate your screen brightness to suitable levels. I used to have my monitors running at between 150-200 nits (kinda default for the monitors from factory), and got eye strain occasionally, but after I started calibrating down to 120 nits (DVD mastering standard) or even 90 nits if the room wasn't very brightly lit, I haven't really had eye strain issues in years. Ideally you wouldn't want the monitor to be much if at all brighter than a piece of paper would be in the same lighting. At that level the backlit nature shouldn't matter that much. I understand that this might be less than conducive to making art though.

Cocaines a helluva drug.

Sheesh, my Dood, I hope you feel better soon. Please don't beat yourself up about not being on time, sometimes your body demands a break.

Kherbellos

Hope you feel better soon dude

Can’t recommend these enough https://gunnar.com I’ve got a couple pairs and they really help. They also have no tint that still helps to reduce eye strain without filtering out colors that strain the eye.

Get some rest, man. The page can wait.

Angelo

Take care my guy.

Pup_Spark

This is a service. If I think you’re taking the piss, I will pull the funds. You have never come close to taking the piss. You update and compensate very professionally, and you’ve earned some patience. Take care.

Ally

Woof. Keep safe, man. Rest up, take a raincheck if you need it.

Vent

Take your time. Take care of yourself.
