More like she suffers from an affliction I myself have always had: she's simply slow on the uptake. There are times when I've lived out the type of gags you see on TV, where someone gets a passive aggressive insult at a dinner party and doesn't notice, only to yell "Hey! Wait a minute!" on the drive home hours later. So she gets that from me.
As for why Parker cares so much about what these mechanics think of her now that she realized she's actually friends with them, if you've made certain choices with her in the visual novel you already know. But if not I've got you covered, it will be recapped here on the next page.
