I was watching a You Tube video this weekend that played a clip from the old Ghostbusters cartoon, and I wanted to take a shot at Janine's crazy 90's hair and gaudy make up. (Gotta love that hot pink lipstick!) I went with the spectral monster dick because about halfway through finishing this it occurred to me that I found the idea of her blowing a member of the team extremely unsexy. What can I say, I see the Ghostbusters like I see the Ninja Turtles: they're icons of my childhood and I really don't care to picture them fucking anyone. ><
An interesting thing to me about the Ghostbusters franchise is that it lived on successfully through many mediums of entertainment: games, comics, and cartoons to name a few. But the one way it never really continued well in my opinion as was in the movies, which is ironic considering that was where the whole franchise began. Most of us, if we're being honest, will agree that Ghostbusters 2 wasn't as good as the first. And while I wasn't outraged by the very existence of the recent reboot like so many were, I will join the masses in admitting I didn't think it was a worthy follow up to the original either.
So where do they go from here? I have no clue. The reboot didn't work, and the idea of Sony trying a pass-the-torch canonical sequel to the originals seems unlikely, especially since it would have no Harold Ramis. Maybe some franchises are a product of their time and don't need to be dug up again every ten years or so? Sure seems that way to me, but as always I'd love to hear what you guys think.
