Conan and Red Sonja
Added 2016-06-19 07:36:00 +0000 UTCWhen I was a kid I somehow got my hands on this giant stack of old Conan comics, the black and white ones that were the size of magazines. I liked how they always started with him in some random situation, like being a bandit leader or being imprisoned or being chased away from banging some hot barwench lol. Red Sonja would show up every now and then in his stories but I never had any of her own comics. I remember her best from her so-bad-it's-good movie from the eighties. Worth a watch if you haven't seen it. :)

As for the Conan cartoon even at the time i was amazed at the type of dark, R-rated properties that was being turned into kid's cartoons. Couldn't argue with the results though, that's how Ninja Turtles became popular.

Sometimes they were mixed in with 'men's adventure' one shots with crooks and Nazis and guns. Lots of guns. Hell, whole plots turned around this gun or that's capabilities. (like the high capacity of the C96 broomhandle or the unbarrel shotgun of a Combination gun. As an adult, I can't help but wonder if the magazine title was a reference to Conan's wang, the man used it enough.

2016-06-19 15:11:38 +0000 UTCI remember watching the cartoon but i cant remember much of it :/ I loved the hot young babe he had in the live action arnie version, there was also a young asian boy who tried to stop arnie from banging her, who ironically was in some stupid kids tv series about ninjas (ninjas and martial arts were popular back then due to bruce lee and hong kong kungfu flicks)
