I'm confused

I'm really wondering about something.  It's about the story I posted last night, "Replenishing the Scholarship Fund"   Is there anything that is really badly written about the story?

I'm asking because I posted the story on Hentai-Foundry earlier, and it's been downvoted at least three times.  The only thing I can figure is people don't like the fact that Hermione and Draco (who is a Gryffindor in this story) had sex.  It isn't shown, or even described, but it's there.   I even put a warning about it on the summary, but it still got downvoted.

The only other stories that have gotten marked down have had Hermione with somebody other than Harry as the main pairing.  Are there that many rabid Harmony shippers that they will mark down a story if it doesn't have their preferred pairing?  I wouldn't mind so much if they left a review and let me know what they had a problem with, but of course they don't.

Hell, it's a good thing I didn't post Lily's Revenge, I would probably be hung in effigy!

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent.  I'm going back to a new story, I'm at 6,200 words, it's called 'Buggering the Time-Line' and Harry goes back to 1977 and destroys the Horcruxes and Voldemort.  With that done, he's off to seduce a whole lot of witches.   First up, Lily Evans!

We've already had that discussion a couple of years ago, but , without being a complete Harmony fan, i must admit it's one of my favorite pairings and i'm a bit disappointed at seeing it less and less in your stories ( though i completely understand why). I've no opposition to any pairing as long as it's introduced well, and wouldn't downvote a story just for that. As for the specifics of this story, i haven't had time to read it yet. I'm reading through my backlog these days

Yeah I love harmony myself but some of the fans of it can get pretty rabid.

Oh, I totally get that in this story he is very much NOT death eater in waiting Draco but instead good Draco but I think some people just cannot make that jump or just do not want to read it. I myself tend to fall into the well not really that interested in reading it camp. Basically what it would mean for a story like this is I probably have no interest in a chapter following Draco's experiences with this but the concept doesn't make me not want to read the story itself if that makes sense. Which I have to admit does annoy me a tiny bit cause it sounds like he'll end up with Tonks and of all the girls mentioned I'm probably most interested in her and Narcissa

I actually enjoyed "The Scholarship Fund" and thought it was a very good idea that was executed fairly well - to be honest, I didn't really notice the Draco/Hermione thing and I don't necessarily have a problem with an A/U Draco/Hermione pairing...canon Draco/Hermione is a whole other story that I'm not okay with.

If you incorporate that one spell victor goes the spoils I think it's proctor belum or something. Where if you kill say Bella's husband you get his properties and her as a slave.

People use a downvote as a dislike button. Don't take it too hard

Well, Narcissa is a definite, but Bellatrix isn't, I'm not sure about Alice Longbottom, and I'm already planning on Amelia Bones and a few other witches I'm trying to get to an ending point for this chapter so I can post it.

I've gotten sick of Harmony myself, and only write her in stories that are commissions, or if I started the story a while ago. But to get to the Rosa Parks/KKK thing, that would be valid if we were dealing with canon Draco. In this story, he was raised without Lucius' racist attitudes, and, although I didn't state it, he was raised with Harry and Neville as his playmates and never developed the pure blood supremacy ideals.

Red Jacobson

I wouldn't mind buggering the Black sister's time line with Lily Evans, Alice "nevergonnabe" Longbottom and others.

Matthew Johnson

I could accept people being unhappy and marking the story down if I hadn't explicitly stated that Draco and Hermione had sex right in the Summary. If it bothered them so much, they could have skipped the story entirely

Red Jacobson

Yes, Hermione was a Puff, I don't know why, she didn't tell me when she showed up. Maybe because she was more interested in having friends than her books?

Red Jacobson

I've seen Draco/Hermione compared to KKK Member/Rosa Parks and well to a large extent it kinda is. Even you AUing that KKK member and saying they never joined its still distasteful to alot of people. I have to admit I'm just pretty sick of Draco or Snape being written as actually good guys stories which is why I'm not really a fan. Though I'm also not really Harmony fan as I've gotten pretty sick of Hermione just as a character. This is mostly caused by the fact that most authors write her as a freaking Mary Sue and most of the Harmony relationship fics are less well developed then even fanon Harry/Ginny.

It's def the draco and hermione

Alex Holcomb

Yes, I am definitely a Harry/Hermione fan and I usually don't read Hermione/Draco story because I just cannot see it happening. But for this story as it was not the main focus of the story and you made Draco a Gryffindor, I was able to read that section. My question to you though is, did you make Hermione a Hufflepuff? I would say just chalk it up to the little snowflakes not getting what they want and continue writing what interest you and your commissioners. Have a great night and I am looking for the more stories from you.

Scott Jackson

Anything that is outside their narrow minds causes cognitive dissonance. I read it and did not have a problem with Draco as a Gryffindor, at least it was something different than a Slytherin, and it was explained well. Let it slide. It was written well and sets up the Sirius / Hermione dynamic well.

Me personally am harmony fan but I can deal with hermione being with anyone except Malfoys
