Immediately after the Prior Scene

Cho was shocked, watching Marietta come flying out of the fourth year girl's room, and hearing the shouts from the girl inside?  What was going on here?  She knew she'd been distracted the last couple of months, dealing with losing Cedric, but she should have noticed if Marietta was trying to force the younger girls!   She was still a Prefect, for Merlin's sake!

Standing up, she turned to Padma and said, “Okay, this has got to go to Flitwick.  I'll get Marietta to the Infirmary, can you send somebody to have Professor Flitwick meet me there?  I'd ask you to go, but I need for you to check with the other girls in the lower years and find out if anybody has been pressuring them.  Don't mention any names, but if Marietta has done this before, I want to know about it, and so will Professor Flitwick.”   Padma was staring at her in shock, and she frowned, “What are you waiting for?  Move!”

Turning back, she levitated the girl that she thought was a friend, and carried her down the stairs and out through the door.    Hopefully, she wouldn't encounter Snape or Umbridge on the way, she really wasn't in the mood to be polite!

* * *

Padma stared after Cho, stunned by the change in the girl, but she went down to the second year dorms and grabbed the first girl she saw, sending her with the message to Flitwick.    Heading back to the fourth year's floor, she saw that Su was helping Luna get herself together.  When she saw Su start to cast a healing spell, Padma said, “Don't do that, Su!  Put a robe over Luna and get her to the Infirmary.  I think we're going to need evidence of what happened.  This isn't something that can be let go with losing points or detentions.  I wouldn't be surprised if the Aurors got called in, especially since Edgecombe is an adult now.”

Su nodded and managed to find a robe to cover the shaken blonde, guiding her out of the dorm.  Padma thought for a moment, trying to remember the barrier charm she'd researched over the summer, her bratty little sisters were always trying to get into her room when she wanted privacy, she cast the charm over the entrance to the room.  She would take it down when the adults decided what to do about this mess.

Moving down the hallway, she knocked on each of the doors, telling all the girls to head down to the common room, she'd be there soon.  They started to ask questions, but the look on her face shut them up pretty quickly.   She repeated this with the third years and the second.   She didn't bother the firsties, they hadn't been here long enough for any of the upper years to try anything, she hoped.

Once all the girls were gathered, to curious looks from some of the boys, Padma put up a privacy charm around the group and looked at them.  “This is a question that I really wish I didn't have to ask, but, have any of you been pressured or made uncomfortable by a girl in the upper years wanting to, to be blunt, have sex with you?   There was an incident a little while ago, and I'm trying to find out if there were other girls being approached.”

There was silence for a long moment, until Rose MacAllister, in the third nodded, which seemed to break the ice, and five other girls also said that they were approached.   Padma silenced them before they could give any details, and separated the girls so they couldn't compare their stories.   She ordered the others, who weren't pressured, not to say anything unless they were approached by Professor Flitwick or a senior member of staff.

Gathering all six girls, she led them to the Infirmary, again telling them not to talk to each other.

Professor Flitwick was already there talking to Luna when the arrived, and Madame Pomfrey was working to heal Marietta's injuries.  The nurse had a look of distaste on her face, so she was aware of what happened and why.   Padma noticed that all six of the girls had a pleased look on their faces when they caught sight of the unconscious Sixth year and grimaced.   It seems that Luna wasn't the first girl she had tried something with, then.   This was going to be a real mess!

Headmaster's Office

Same Time

Harry sat, stunned at what Dumbledore was telling him.  Pettigrew was captured, and Voldemort was neutralized?  Snape was dead?   If hadn't casually pinched himself, he would have been certain he was dreaming, dozing after the fantastic afternoon he'd just had!   Seeing that the Headmaster was waiting for him to respond, he snapped his jaw closed, before licking his lips.

Sitting back in the chair, Harry gave a shaky laugh, “Wow!  I don't know what to say, but when you say Voldemort was neutralized, what does that mean, is he dead?”

The old man frowned thoughtfully, “No Harry, not yet.  I've currently got him under the Drought of Living Death in a Fidelus protected location.   He had taken steps to prevent his spirit from passing over, and before they are destroyed, it would be extremely difficult to ensure he couldn't return.”

“Can you tell me what sort of steps he took?  I remember that he was bragging about going further than anyone else in defeating Death, but things were a little busy at the time so I didn't get any more details.”

Dumbledore smiled slightly at Harry's description of things being 'a little busy,' but said, “Tom had created soul anchors to tie him to this plane of existence.  Do you remember the diary?”

Harry's eyes widened, “Shite!  He put part of his soul in different objects?  No wonder he was nuttier than squirrel shit!”

The Headmaster choked slightly on his lemon drop trying not to laugh at Harry's crass, but a rather accurate description of Tom's mental state.  But then Harry got a contemplative look on his face and he said, "Do you know how many times he split his soul?  Because one of the things that Crouch taught us last year when he was impersonating Professor Moody, was that the Killing Curse separated the soul from the body, killing the body.   What would happen if you or someone hit Voldemort's spirit with the number of Killing Curses that he had anchors?  Would that kill him and destroy the anchors at the same time?"

Dumbledore was actually surprised!  The idea of using the Killing Curse hadn't actually occurred to him.  "That's an idea worth following Harry because I don't actually have an answer.   But to answer your question, there were originally seven anchors, but two of them have been destroyed.  One was the diary, and the other was, I believe the mutated snake that Tom had as his familiar."

Harry frowned, something was tickling his memory, what was it?  Tom claimed to be the Heir of Slytherin, why is that important?  He tried to focus on what was bothering him, and then it hit him!  Last summer, when he and Fleur were enjoying themselves in the library at Grimmauld Place, that demented elf went skulking through, and he remembered how the elf had been so protective of that weird locket, with the Slytherin crest on it.   How the locket had felt familiar to him, and the twinge in his scar when he touched it...

Dumbledore watched with interest as Harry was obviously thinking furiously, his face lighting up in realization before he suddenly went pale!  Leaning forward, he said, "Harry? What's wrong?  You look like you're going to be ill!"

Harry gulped heavily, “Professor, I think I know where two of those anchors are.  I remembered seeing Sirius's insane elf with a locket that had the Slytherin crest on it, and how it felt almost familiar.  Then I remembered how my scar twinged when I held the thing, the same way it twinged when I was around Professor Quirrell my first year.   I think he left a part of his soul in my scar.”

Dumbledore's heart almost broke for the young man in front of him, he'd been afraid that had been what happened when he first started suspecting Tom of making those abominations.   At least he could offer a little bit of consolation to Harry, and he softly said, "I'll have Sirius look for the locket you mention, because I do remember seeing it myself, but I have to tell you, that even if you do have a piece of Tom's soul in your scar, you are not an anchor, not a complete one!   The ritual to complete the anchor is incredibly complex and has to be completed after the soul has been torn, and Tom wouldn't have been able to complete the ritual after his killing curse was reflected back at him!"

He was pleased to see the look of relief in Harry's eyes, and said, “I'll admit, I suspected some sort of connection between Tom and your scar, and thought that by his using your blood in his return, it would have provided you additional protection if you encountered him again.  But I've also been quietly searching for a way to remove the soul fragment, if that's what it is, without harming you.   I'm fairly sure that a ritual of exorcism would be enough, but unfortunately, it's not an area of magic that I'm fully conversant in.  I do have a couple of trustworthy contacts that specialize in Ritual magic and will get in touch with them to request their help.   It will take a bit of time, but hopefully, by Halloween, we can see the end of Tom permanently!"

The look of relief on Harry's face was total, and Dumbledore said, “Now, I'm sure that you are excited about the information I've given you, especially about Peter, but I must request that you not say anything, even to Mister Weasley or Miss Granger, until I'm able to arrange for the traitor to be turned over to the DMLE.  I'll be making an announcement at dinner about Professor Snape, and I'm sure you would agree that keeping secret the fact that Tom has been captured would be a good idea?”

Harry nodded in agreement, "Absolutely Sir!  I'm very glad you were willing to tell me, it does take a load off my mind.   And if you could tell me that you've found a way to get rid of the Ministry Toad that we've had inflicted on us, it would make this day even better."

Albus chuckled, “Believe it or not, and I never said this to anyone, especially not a student, but I'm working on a way to get our newest Professor out of the castle in the very near future.”

Harry smirked as he understood what the Headmaster couldn't say, but before he could say anything, a spectral form of a dragon came floating through the door.  He recognized Professor Flitwick's voice, “Headmaster, I need to see you urgently, there's been an incident in the Aerie, and I'm afraid that Aurors will need to be contacted!”

Harry stood, “I'll let myself out, Professor,” he said, as he headed toward the door.  While he was curious about what had happened, he knew that he wouldn't be allowed to stay while they discussed whatever happened.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, he was surprised to see Professor Flitwick with a group of girls, including Cho and Padma, as well as Su Li.  He remembered just in time that he didn't know it was Su who had given him just an amazing knobber earlier, so he just nodded politely at her.  He smiled at Cho and Padma, and it was interesting that Cho looked a lot more focused than she had at breakfast.  It was when the girls moved apart to let him pass that he saw Luna, and noticed the bruise on her cheek and damaged clothing.

He was in front of her immediately, an urge to hurt whoever did this rising inside him.  He may not know the girl very well, but she seemed like a sweet-natured girl who didn't deserve to look so shattered!

Forcing down his anger, he softly said, “Luna?  Are you going to be okay?  Is there anything I can do to help you?”

Luna looked up when he spoke, and when she recognized him, she snapped out of the daze she had been in, reaching out and putting her arms around him, before she started to sob against his chest.  Fortunately, he had enough experience comforting Hermione that he held her in his arms, rubbing her back and whispering soothing words in her ears.   She calmed down slowly, and looked up at him with a watery smile, whispering, "Thank you, Harry, it feels good to know you care."

Harry had been so focused on the girl in his arms that he missed the slight smiles on Cho and Padma's faces or the intrigued look on Su Li's.  All that mattered was taking care of Luna, she needed him right then.

When Professor Flitwick cleared his throat, “Mister Potter, I'm sure that Miss Lovegood will tell you what happened, but we do need to see the Headmaster.”

Getting the hint, Harry loosened his grip on Luna, but she shook her head, “No, please!  Professor, I feel safe like this, please don't send Harry away.”

The diminutive Professor looked torn for a second, but then nodded, “Very well, Miss Lovegood, if you want Mister Potter to stay with you, he can stay.”

Harry kept his arms around Luna as they walked back up the stairs.  When they were all crowded into Professor Dumbledore's office, she refused to leave his arms, so he ended up sitting with the slight blonde sitting on his lap.  Unfortunately, after the events of the day, a certain part of his body reacted automatically, making Luna giggle quietly.  She looked up at him and whispered, "Thank you, Harry, I like you too!  But I'm not feeling up to anything right now, maybe tomorrow?"

Harry didn't know what to say to that, he actually hadn't been thinking of Luna as a playmate, but now that she had expressed an interest the thoughts wouldn't leave his mind!  At least, they wouldn't leave, until he heard the story of what had happened earlier, and then the stories from the other young girls.  At that point, he would cheerfully rend Marietta limb from limb.   Unsurprisingly, it seemed the Headmaster felt the same way, and he immediately turned to his floo and called for the DMLE.

A minute or so later, Harry recognized the face of Amelia Bones in the fire, although it seemed like she was looking rather harried as she asked the Professor what he needed.   She swore loudly when he told her that he needed Aurors to gather evidence regarding sexual assault on several students, and said she'd have a female Auror there shortly, before breaking the connection.

Harry kept his face impassive, but he was sure that all the deaths at Nott Manor had the Ministry in an uproar.   He felt sympathy for the woman, she seemed to be a decent person during that farce of a trial, but with the problems the Ministry had caused him, he didn't object to them having problems!

Dumbledore had asked each of the girls to sit beside his desk, and then he put up some sort of privacy spell so that nobody could hear what was said.  He spoke to each of the girls for several minutes, although he seemed to spend longer with Cho, Padma, and Su.   Finally, he gestured for Luna, and she looked at Harry pleadingly, so he walked with her, letting her sit with him as she spoke to the Professor.

The Headmaster didn't object, in fact, he seemed pleased at the way Harry was looking after the girl, and he gently asked her what had happened earlier.   As Luna spoke, Harry noticed that a quill was moving steadily, writing on a large sheet of parchment.   At first, he was concerned, remembering the

'Quick Quotes' quill that Rita had used the year before, but this quill was a deep blue, not the acid green of Rita's quill.

Harry stayed quiet as Luna told her story, just putting his arms around her and holding her lightly as she spoke, trying to provide comfort.  When she finished, she turned and smiled her thanks.   He kept his arm around her as they went back to his original seat, and Dumbledore called a sullen Edgecombe over.

He watched as the girl was talking animatedly, her face angry, but Dumbledore just stared at her impassively.  The quill kept moving across the parchment, but it seemed to stutter in places, and Harry wondered what that was about?

By the time Dumbledore had finished questioning Edgecombe, the floo had activated again, and Harry watched as Tonks stepped out of the fire, dressed in her Auror robes.   Harry automatically reacted, remembering the times he had seen the woman without those robes.  Luna just sighed and shifted so she was sitting more comfortably.  This, of course, didn't make Harry any more comfortable, because he was pressing right against her bum, but he didn't dare complain!

Tonks' eyes scanned the room, raising an eyebrow when she saw Harry with Luna on his lap, but otherwise didn't react.   She started speaking to Professor Dumbledore, and he put the privacy spell around them again.

He had been so focused on what the Professor was doing, that it came as a surprise when Padma took a seat next to him, and a privacy bubble went up around the three of them.  He cursed silently, annoyed that somebody had gotten the drop on him, although at least Padma was inclined to be friendly.  She leaned in and said, “Parvati was planning to have a conversation with you, did she?”

It was clear from the look on her face that she knew exactly what sort of conversation she was referring to, and since Luna seemed equally as interested, he said, “She did, and from her reactions, I'm sure she considered it an extremely satisfying conversation.”

Padma grinned, "I'm sure, and while it looks like Luna is determined to be the next to speak to you, I want to make sure you schedule a time for a conversation with me, okay?"

Harry couldn't help it, he laughed, shaking his head.  He couldn't believe how blatant Padma was being, but he certainly wasn't going to turn her down.   He got his laughter under control and said, "Well, Luna has asked to speak to me tomorrow, but maybe on Tuesday after dinner, we can take a walk around the lake?  I know a place we can talk without being disturbed."

Padma grinned widely, “I'm looking forward to it!” before dropping the spell around them.  When Harry looked up, it was to watch Marietta being taken through the floo, her wrists in manacles behind her back.

By this time, the others had left Professor Dumbledore's office, and he held Luna's hand as they walked down the stairs.   The two of them walked quietly and, as they were approaching the Entrance Hall, Harry froze and pulled Luna into the shadows.  He had seen the new DADA Professor waddling down the hall toward the doors, a look of concern on her face, and he really didn't to attract her attention.

Fortunately, the toad-woman wasn't paying attention to her surroundings so she walked right past them and out the front door of the castle, muttering to herself.

Once she was gone, they started moving again, with Harry wondering aloud, “What was that all about?  She really didn't look happy, did she?”

Luna grinned a perfectly happy smile but didn't say anything, until they were approaching the door to the Ravenclaw Aerie.  The smile dropped, and she slowed her pace until they were at a complete stop in front of a painting of a couple having a picnic under a tree.  She turned to look at him and said, “Harry, I told you that I wasn't up for anything right now, that hasn't changed, but I really need to talk about what happened, where other's aren't listening.  Will you help me? Just hold me while I talk?”

He didn't hesitate, “Of course, Luna, whatever you need.  And honestly, I'd be surprised if you are ready for anything even tomorrow.  But I'll be happy to hold you.”

She smiled softly, before pulling her wand and tapping the edge of the painting in front of them.   The frame lifted off the wall, and Harry could feel a warm breeze coming from behind it.   Intrigued, he moved closer, accidentally brushing against Luna's back.  She turned and grinned at him before moving the painting further away from the wall.

Harry followed Luna through the entrance, only to stare in surprise that he was standing in a springtime meadow, with the sun shining gently overhead, and birds singing in the trees.  There was a stream running through the meadow, and Harry could hear the water bubbling over the rocks.

He was still looking around in amazement when he heard Luna laugh happily.  Turning toward her with a smile, he froze when she saw that the young blonde was completely nude!  She was running around the meadow, stopping to smell the flowers that were blooming, until she arrived at a picnic blanket spread under the tree.  Sitting down, she said, "I hope you don't mind, but I'm actually more comfortable not wearing clothes when I'm with people I trust.  Ginny likes it, but it makes Daddy a bit uncomfortable, I'm not sure why."

Somehow he managed to tear his eyes away from Luna's naked body and look her in the eyes, expecting to see amusement there, but instead, he just saw happiness reflected in her silvery eyes.   She said, "I expected you to look, Harry, I wanted you to see what I'm going to be giving you when I'm ready.  I actually decided that I was going to be sleeping with you when I was a second year when your Patronus saved me from the Dementors, but I had to wait until I grew up a bit.  I hope you don't mind the wait?"

Harry smiled softly, "Considering I didn't know that you had made that decision until you told me, I can say that the wait didn't bother me at all.  But, before you do something that can't be taken back, what do you need from me, Luna?  Are you looking for a relationship, a contract between us? Or are you looking to be friends who play together?"

She looked up at him seriously, "I'm looking for a man who can make sure my first time is enjoyable and is open to spending time together now and then.  I'm already under a contract for after I graduate, but Rolf told me that he expects me to have lovers before we marry.  He is going to be taking lovers as well, so both of us know what we enjoy and can guide each other.  Does that answer your questions?"

Harry nodded, sliding off his shoes and stepping onto the blanket.  Sitting down, he opened his arms and Luna moved into his embrace.  Harry planted a light kiss on the top of her head, which made the girl smile, and he said, “I can promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure you enjoy yourself when the time comes.  But are there things you've fantasized about?  If you let me know, we can try to make them a reality, if you want to.”

She giggled again, and Harry was surprised that, unlike a lot of different girls, he didn't find her giggle irritating at all, it was, Merlin help us all, cute!    "I've fantasized about a great many things, but I don't think Professor Dumbledore would appreciate it if I stripped in the Great Hall during dinner and stretched out so everybody could use their mouths on me!"

He chuckled, “No, he's fairly understanding and easy going a lot of the time, but that might push things a bit too far.”

Luna went quiet for a moment, before she said, “Okay, I think I feel safe enough now, thank you for being here for me, Harry.  I think I'll be able to face the girls in the Aerie if I know that you will support me.”

He kept quiet, just wrapping his arms around her, careful not to touch anything inappropriate.

Luna closed her eyes and leaned back against him, “I was actually really excited this afternoon, I got a letter on my bed the other night, and was going to be trying something I've never done before after dinner.  Did you receive a letter and a Galleon coin?”  At his nod, she continued, “So you know what I'm talking about.  I had been dreaming about it for a while, ever since I was visiting Ginny and saw the twins and their girlfriends out by the pond, and they weren't wearing any clothes.”

“They were the first naked boys I'd ever seen, and watching Angelina taking one of them in her mouth looked so exciting that I couldn't wait to try it for myself.    I didn't get a chance last year, because of the Tournament there was too much attention paid to the students.  That's why I was so excited to get the letter.”

She stiffened in his arms, and Harry could see tears welling in her eyes, and he managed to pull his handkerchief from his pocket and wipe away the wetness.  “I was so busy thinking about what I was going to be doing, and hoping that you would be there, that I didn't even notice my door open until Marietta was grabbing me!  She started trying to kiss me, but I fought back as hard as I could.  I don't have anything against having sex with another girl, but not with her!”

“She was one of the girls who tried to bully me when I was younger, and I would never willingly do anything with her.   But she managed to tear my top, and hit me, and that's when I must have panicked, because the next thing I knew, she was flying across the room and hitting my door, and landing in the hallway!    Why did she think I would want anything to do with her?  She knew I didn't like her.  But then, finding out she did the same thing to the other girls, who couldn't fight back as well?  It's so scary, are there any girls like her still in the Aerie?  What if I can't fight them next time?”

The tears were flowing freely, and she was shaking in his arms, and all he could do was hold her tightly and try to comfort her.  The two of them were shocked when they heard a girl's voice saying,

"Then you scream for me as loud as you can, Luna.  I'll do my best to help you, and if I hadn't been lost in misery or self-pity, I would have seen what Marietta was doing all along.   She started going after younger girls last year when I was wrapped up with Cedric, and I didn't notice!  I'm so sorry about that, and I promise I'll watch out over the other students to step on them if any of them try anything."

Luna looked up from his arms, and her voice was so frightened and lost that Harry's heart broke, "You promise? Do you promise Cho?  It was so scary, she was bigger and stronger than me, and I couldn't reach my wand, all I could think of was getting away, but she had me where I couldn't do anything."

Harry cleared his throat, “Luna, would it help if you had additional training in defense?  We can be sure already that Umbridge is going to be absolutely useless as a teacher, but what if you, Cho, Padma and Su, and maybe a few others got together and taught each other defense, both magical and non-magical?  That way you could feel more confident that you could protect yourself if you had to.”

Luna's tears had dried as he spoke, and he was glad to see a look of determination on her face instead of the look of loss she had been wearing earlier.  “Thank you!  Knowing that I can protect myself would make a big difference.  And, since we'll be training together, along with the other girls, it will give us time to explore what I like after the lessons.”

Cho, who had been listening quietly while Harry spoke, started laughing.  "Merlin Luna, can you be any more blatant?  You should make the guy you're interested in work for it!"

Luna looked up at her, a smirk on her face, all signs of her earlier distress gone, “Why would I want to do that, Cho?  Harry and I both know that I want to have sex with him, and making him work for it would just take away the time we could be having sex.”

The Chinese girl shrugged, “Fair point, I guess.  But, I really didn't intend to interrupt you, I just wanted to sit by the stream and soak my feet while I thought.  I'm sorry I didn't notice the meadow was occupied.

"Oh, it's alright Cho, I wanted to thank you for helping earlier, I'll be talking to Padma and Su when I get back to the Aerie, but since your here, I'll let you know that just because I reacted so badly to Marietta doesn't mean I have anything against having sex with a girl.  If you're interested so am I!"

Cho's jaw dropped, her eyes darting to where Harry was grinning at Luna, not sure of what to say.

Harry looked up at Cho and said, “If you're worried that I'm going to react badly to you being interested in lovely Luna's body, don't be.  I spent a good deal of the summer with two women who enjoyed each other as much as they enjoyed me.  I think watching two women who genuinely want to be together, and not just because a guy wants them to, is one of the sexiest things I've ever seen.”

Cho smiled shyly, her eyes wandering over Luna's body, which Luna noticed, grinning at her, before she said, "Thanks Harry, yes, I was a little worried, because I remembered hearing you were raised in the muggle world and didn't know if they were as accepting about things like that."

Harry laughed, "Cho, in the muggle world, most people wouldn't even bat an eye at two girls dating or having sex, any more than they would two guys dating.   Sure, there are some people who are against it, including my aunt and uncle, but I figure, anything they're opposed to is something I'm going to support!"

Harry was about to say something else when his stomach rumbled and he blushed.  Checking the time, he said, "It's almost dinner time.  Why don't you get dressed Luna? I'm actually decent at repair charms so we can go get something to eat.  Do you want to join us, Cho?"

She shrugged, “I could eat.  It's been an exciting afternoon.”

Luna snorted, picking up her clothes, “That's one way to describe it, but I think I could do with less excitement in the future.”

Harry laughed and nodded, and, making sure that Luna's blouse was repaired, the three of them headed out of the meadow, dinner on their minds.

End Chapter Four

Sorry about the lack of lemon, but they really wouldn't have fit with the events of the chapter.   See you next time!

Comments

No lemons, but the action and plot advancement made up for it as well as setting the scene for more fun in the future.
