Dex opens his eyes slowly. In front of him, he sees a dark figure silhouetted against some bright flashing lights.

Dex looks around as his eyes adjust. He’s beginning to suspect he’s in someone’s bedroom, and the bright flashing light is a TV.

It looks like someone is playing some kind of game, but Dex doesn't recognize the guy...

‘What the hell did I do last night to end up in a random guy’s bedroom?’ He thought.

Then it all came back to him: The failed slave trafficking mission, the masked thief, the excruciating pain of having his flesh melted off... He doesn’t remember anything after that though. Maybe the guy in front of him is the masked thief from last night?  

“Hey,” Dex says.

“Oh, hey,” says Badger, pausing his game. “Are you... ehm... in one piece again?”

“Yeah, although I guess I have felt better.”

“Oke, great.” Badger turns around and focuses on his game again. “You can call me Badger, by the way. We never really introduced ourselves last night, so...”

Dex realizes that this guy probably hauled him out of the mobster hideout, and is now.... nursing him back to health? And now they're making small talk? What happened to the rude Badger from last night?

“Dex.”

Badger turns around. “What?”

“My name’s Dex.”

“Is that your superhero name or your real name?”

“Real one,” Dex says.

“Oh." Badger turns back to the game. "Ehmm... mine’s Jay.”

“So, Jay," Dex sits up. "Does that game have a multiplayer option?”

“Yeah, but just call me Badger, oke? And don’t tell anyone my name, where I live, or what I look like, or I’ll make sure next time you don't wake up in a cozy bed.”

‘Now THAT'S the Badger from last night,’ Dex thought.
