It took her at least a few weeks (if not months) to approach Brock about being his pokemon and they already had an established positive relationship with mutual respect at that point in time.

Kind of implies he might have been invited by the master of the house and then thought (because Brock attacked) it was a trick/trap... because seriously? Who attacks out of the blue without backup? But Brock attacked first with witnesses and thus put grandpa in a bind where he HAS to welcome Brock in because the public (staff) think Brock is owed a favor.

So he might not realize it, but his Ryhorn might just be considered Top Tier in the current (past?) environment. Reason A) Brock doesn't slack on feeding his pokemon. So Ryhorn has been getting Top Quality food all his life which leads to him being a healthier pokemon than probably most pokemon in this time period (for sure there have been nutritional improvements over the years). Reason B) Brock doesn't slack on training for any pokemon, not even gym pokemon (they aren't his main focus, like his personal team, but he still trains them). So Rhyhorn has some good training up his sleeve (recall how the Gym does auctions that are rather popular: This implies that Gym pokemon have some good training under their belt). Reason C) Genetics aren't everything, but they do count for something and Ryhorn has some good genetics on his side. Reason D) Brock noted that all of Bertha & Titan's kids have some real potential, but they've never really been motivated to excel. Now this one is in an environment where Brock has only this Ryhorn to rely upon. That's some serious motivation for Ryhorn to tap into their full potential. Reason E) Ryhorn might not be top of the league, but Brock IS. Ever see those Cynthia vs Rattata videos? It might not transfer 100% to the world Viva built, but... an expert trainer fron the top of the Indigo League just knows things past trainers don't. Top trainers like Brock can bring the best out of any pokemon. Its what makes a Pokémon Master a *Master* and not just a trainer. So yeah, Brock will be able to wring more out of Ryhorn than people of this area would expect (perfect example was how Rhyorn left the pokeball already charging, no verbal que needed to hit that dragon)

2026-01-13 21:00:47 +0000 UTCNot sure how much use catching new Pokémon will be against Blackthorns here unless he's sticking for a while. It'll take months to train them up into halfway decent shape to fight properly unless he's only catching the Alpha/Boss of some pack or region.

2026-01-13 19:34:48 +0000 UTCBrock needs some other Pokémon fast. Ryhorn is strong no doubt with titan and Bertha as parents but fighting blackthorns and others is gonna get really tricky otherwise. Also as strong as Celebi is it’s out of commission for the moment and even then who knows how willing it would be to fight with Brock. Although given what it did to Brock it definitely owed him one. However even if it does battle with Brock I really hope he finds some other Pokémon Absol or some other dark types would be cool. The egg oak is getting wonder if it’s for a dratini?

That pink cat was a troll of the worst sort, and I was kind of glad that it was restrained to the Tree of Beginning, as it would have happily caused worldwide chaos if it wasn’t restricted. LOL.
