Warm and fuzzy brains are a goal around here, so I'm glad to hear that was the result of this audio for you, Oz. This character definitely walks the line where she could be completely obnoxious, but I wanted to push her just far enough that the vulnerability became a stark contrast that tugged at the heartstrings a bit and added more intimacy and emotion to the scene. She ended up having way more depth to her than I'd even hoped, and I'm so glad that came through. Your reaction to her, being frustrated with her (and rightly so), tells me I was on the right track and I'm pretty proud of that, if I'm being honest. ๐ The kissing idea was exactly what you said - the main difference between this time and all the rest. This was how she's showing him that things have changed. It was a bit of an homage to "Pretty Woman," hence the reference in the audio itself. The scene needed that indicator of a newfound intimacy that could only be handled certain ways because of the medium I was working with, and kissing met that need nicely. 2022-03-14 13:40:21 +0000 UTCI meant to leave a comment here when I first listened to this last week, but honestly it left my brain so warm and fuzzy I couldnโt find the words ๐ This has all the wonderful elements of a classic Beauty F2L confession audio, but two things really stood out to me. First is how blunt and borderline insensitive the speaker character is at the start; I felt unusually frustrated with her at first, but when she opens up and explains how sheโs afraid to take risks and just doesnโt want to risk their friendship, my frustration turned to empathy. I guess this is a fairly standard arc for this genre, but I think you did an especially brilliant job at developing the character here. The second thing was how well you used kissing as a motif. There is loads of kissing in this audio (much to my delight ๐), and as the character explicitly says, the kissing is what makes this time feel *different* than all the other times they had had sex. The kissing makes this audio all the more brain-melting, but it also drives home the emotional impact of the story. Excellent work B, I really enjoyed this!
