Ancora Bay 01 - The Sinking Mountaintop Port

A seaside metropolis in the wake of destruction

Hello all, and welcome to our third borough: the bustling seaport Ancora Bay! After apocalyptic floods rendered much of the world uninhabitable, those who survived flocked to what few bastions remained. Ancora Bay is the cosmopolitan paragon of the new world, home to cunning pirates, aggressive occupiers, and greedy kleptocrats. Magic, intrigue, and pulp thrills await adventurers who set sail for Ancora Bay.

This is the biggest borough we've tackled yet, with a whopping 8 releases planned and scheduled. We're extremely excited to show you this massive and intricate city. 

The Borough Guide

In this introduction to Ancora Bay, you'll learn about the various peoples who inhabit the port, the explosive history of the world Roksunay, and the wild magical dangers that still threaten life in the bay. Halflings are disappearing from the mountaintop, and the monopolist oligarchs who control the city are extending their economic stranglehold on the citizens. Plus, we've included a bonus document that outlines the primary antagonist of the city: the mysterious dark elf usurper Qiliria Tallrene.

Maps

Map 1 of Ancora Bay shows off some of the docks, the abandoned market, and the huge shopping center that serves as the city's primary mercantile money-maker. The city streets are always abuzz with activity, especially near the docks! The world, however, is getting ravaged anew by increasing flood surges. Explore the city through a whole new lens as you contend with torrential storm waters. We've included two sets of variant maps for the bay: an underwater version for those who dare to swim in the rising ocean, and a flooded map that emphasizes the dangers of the waves.

As a bonus, the Borough Guide 1 includes a map of the entire world of Roksunay in which the city sits, and we've included layouts for each floor of Denia's Gallery for our General Messenger + patrons.

Music

Ancora Bay will be our first city that features new music for every release. First up is "Port Abuzz," a spirited tune that sets the stage for the lively city streets. Close your eyes, listen, and try to tell me you aren't in a fantasy seaport. Patrons at the Courier Tier also receive the "(Below Deck)" version of he track, perfect for ships in the harbor. As always, looping versions of both tracks are provided so that you can easily vibe to the tracks on seamlessly repeat.
