Last summer I shot with a new-to-me photographer. I like to shoot with new people from time to time because you never new when magic can happen, and I do learn new and interesting things about lighting, poses, shooting angles, hair tricks.

When I pay for professional images (versus collaborating with the photographer for mutual benefit), I typically get proofs to select a contracted amount of retouched photos (no blemishes or crazy hairs out of place) and a rate for additional photos.

Sometimes the packages include prints. I can't remember how many photos this one included. I thought it was one, maybe two. When I picked out my final picks, I asked for one 8x10 and one 5x7. The photographer ordered one of each of my selected digital photos and invoiced me for the extras when all of the photos arrived from a printer. I had a spot for one 8x10 and Mr. Snapper would get the 5x7.

I had four photos sitting in a Priority Mail envelope since late October. I ran across them while trying to tidy up and realized I needed frames. For Four. Fucking. Photos.

I bought frames and put all of the photos in frames. I found places for two of them but I have two photos that still need to find wall space in my apartment. There are lots of photos of me and Mr. Snapper, plus artwork of me and other stuff on our walls.

Now I'll look extra vain with four photos from the same shoot on my walls. Oops.
