I've been in a long break-up with Los Angeles. It's like the lover you know that's bad for you but still excites you.
It costs way too much for me to continue living here and to afford travel. I can live somewhere less expensive where my dollar stretches farther.
I've been saying goodbye for months. I've been busy throwing things away and packing for the past couple months.
Tuesday we leave for Dallas. I was born in the South and Dallas has been good to me.
I'll miss my Kings hockey. (Mr. Snapper is buying me the best NHL package so I can watch my team play from afar, but that's not a trip to Staples Center for a live game.) I'll miss the proximity of the fashion district. I'll miss the perpetual sunshine. I'll miss the uncomfortable comforts of this place. I'll miss the friendships.
But I won't miss the expenses.
I've established a place in the Dallas burlesque world over the past seven years. My first show as a local is April 1st. I'm performing at the Texas Burlesque Festival on August 7th.
And my first gig back in Los Angeles as a visitor is May 13th. Maybe I can get naked in the California sun again.
More travel on the horizon. More fun acts.
Thank you for your support. :)
