Shedding new light on the game - Komadori Inn Devlog #7

Hello Patrons!

The last few months have been difficult as we were buried under a mountain of tasks that, although very important, did not visually move us clearly forward. We are glad that we can come to you with new information about the progress made not only because we are breaking our long silence but also because this means that we are starting a new stage of production of "Komadori Inn".

The Bar and Alpha Build V 0.0.2

We wrote about the Bar Shift for the first time in Devlog # 5 back in September and we are honestly terrified by how much time this "simple minigame" took us. We constantly encountered new challenges related to this part of the game, and in order to bring it to a state where it could be made available to you, we spent a lot of time refining it.

Yesterday, some of our Patrons already received Steam Keys with access to Alpha Build v 0.0.2 (and all future updates), in which they can test the work of a bartender at Komadori Inn. We hope it will be as much fun for you as it is a relief for us to have finished working on it. 🤣


Animated Sex Test Run

Even though "Komadori Inn" is our first game in which we'll be using "Live2d-like" animations (we're making ours in Spine) we came up with a quite a complex system in which many elements influence what is happening on the screen. The pace of the action, emotions on the characters' faces, clothes, and the level of "wetness" change. So it is a huge step forward for us that we have been able to implement and test this system in the game engine and confirm that - IT WORKS. Thanks to this, we can continue working on the next animations without any worries and start sharing animated "naughty deeds" here with you soon.


Light system

One of the many upgrades to Komadori Inn (compared to LaHS) and the thing that makes me even more proud of what we are doing is the new lighting system that will bring a wonderful atmosphere of the changing times of the day to the game world. Combined with the atmospheric orange light of lanterns or blue TV screens, it will allow you to immerse yourself in the game even better.


More content and the new production phase

Of course, the production of the rest of the game's content has not stopped, such as new maps, sounds or, most importantly, illustrations. What we will strive for now is to combine all the created elements into one coherent whole, so that the alpha version 0.0.3 will be something like the first demo of "Komadori Inn" and although we have already done a lot, we can only now talk about the creation of a "game" actually. From now on, we should also share our progress more often, because we will simply do things that are easier to show more often.

While working on version 0.0.3, the game's website on Steam and the first teaser-trailer will also be created, which will be a very important milestone for us in production. This will finally allow us to present the game to a wider audience, and we just can't wait to do it!
