2025-10-15 22:13:13 +0000 UTCThe movies good, but as a book fan it kind of massacred the plot. I won't go too far into it since some of it might come back in the next one. One character that is missing ia one of my favourites, Count Fenring, husband of the lady that got pregnant by Feyd. Hes a failed Kwizatz Haderach and is probably the most lethal individual in the books at that point. He refuses to kill Paul in the end. His absence makes no difference to the plot. The other major change is the role of Chani. She is a supportive partner in the books and recognises that wife is just a word. Paul explicitly tells everyone that he will never touch the princess. This change makes no sense to me. On a final note, Rabban was always asking questions about the deep south and the Fremen numbers. The other two Harkonnens ridiculed him but he was right all along.
