2025-09-16 20:02:06 +0000 UTCIf I had to guess, I think Arlong was especially harsh on Nami because of how much she may have reminded him of Koala, who he must blame for her village snitching on Tiger. Even if they didn't look similar, he's very conditioned when it comes to blame by association.

I think that probably Tiger's name comes from the concept of the tiger vs the dragon, wherein the tiger (yin, water, earth, protection, ferocity) climbs a mountain (in this case, the Red Line) to stand off against the dragon (yang, light, heavens, power). Love your discussions after eps <3

They are trying to achieve the same thing, but in two different ways, just like their counterparts in real life.
