War is brutal. We see a lot of media that sensationalizes war, but it makes animals of us all. So many atrocities happen because of war. This episode gave us a small taste of what war actually is.

i decided not to watch this anime. Vinland Saga. Because somebody on Youtube made a review on this and it's not sounding very interesting for me. He said Alot of people dont like it.

With a very somber episode here that means only one thing... 15 is going to be brutal!!

I've always thought similar. The priest was invested in the story not because he was familiar with Thor's himself but because he was finally able to hear of someone that represented his definition of "Love" a man that treated all life as sacred from his own son to his bitter enemies.

You guys probably started to feel Askladd was a decent guy as the story progressed but he is not and the story reminded you how much a inhuman evil person he really is with his own agenda. I think the priest was so surprised about Thors is because he was a true warrior who fought without a sword even though he was a sword man and defeated 30 men and didn't kill them as the true meaning of Love. Pretty sure he was remind of Jesus who loved all even the ones who crucified him, similar in a way Thor sacrificed himself but who knows that's what I think anyways.

My world history professor said seasons were a huge factor in history. Fall was harvest season, the other two battles were prominent but no one dared touch winter. There was no point in settling out and aiming to attack your enemy because you’d die trying. It was sort of unspoken but known rule that winter was “no battle season.” People have tried and failed the weather was that rough. But one day the Vikings just arrived and did it. Big burly men who could carry a gigantic ship on land and run with it. So imagine you’re having dinner like every season. The weather is brutal and you’re kind of isolated in an area till winter is over but you’re making it through. You had food with your family and just trying to make it by, it wasn’t so bad. And no battling to worry about. Now imagine random day during winter and these men who didn’t speak your language arrived at your door with axes. Huge and they showed no mercy. Scary stuff to think about.
