2025-08-06 13:50:23 +0000 UTCThe "World Peace" in Oda's head is interesting. Did you ever wonder why Oda always insists this is a comic for all ages despite the serious content? Most likely because he wants to help kids learn how to turn into kind and motivated adults. Food for thought: for people saying the protests in Indonesia are unrelated to One Piece, is that really true? I would argue the people fighting for their rights is exactly what Oda wants.

There is a Japanese proverb: 鴨が葱を背負って来る (kamo ga negi wo shotte kuru), which translates to “a duck comes carrying a leek on its back” (meaning an unexpectedly lucky or convenient situation). That’s why ducks and leeks sometimes appear together in Japanese media.

Did you know Sanji was originally supposed to be named Naruto inspired by the swirling design of his eyebrows looking like Naruto fish cake or Narutomaki it has a distinctive pink spiral pattern like Sanji's Eyebrows, but it was changed due to the release of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto manga. Also on top of that Did you know 3rd Gear was inspired by Multi-Size Technique which allows users to increase the size and strength of specific body parts. This technique was used by Choji from Naruto and Eiichiro Oda asked the creator of Naruto Masashi Kishimoto for Permission to use the power. Oda then humorously acknowledged this by saying, "Hey, I’m kind of copying your style here. Sorry!"
