Great movie! Your mascara didn’t make it till the end, but was worth it

Loved you’re reaction! I love this series as well. Definitely gets my tears flowing as well!!! I don’t know if you have ever been recommended for this anime or not but I thought I’d leave it here and maybe one day I can see your reactions to it. I found you guys with your reactions to the live action one piece and have followed you ever since! Anyway the anime I’m recommending is Fruits Basket. I’m hoping one day to see it!

This was so much fun! You 2 should consider movie nights as part of the schedule!

I remember watching this movie for the first time and just outright weeping for 50 minutes straight. I had such a headache. It's an incredible movie.

Never thought i would cry about a postage stamp and here i am doing it a second time 😭

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!! 😭😭😭 Let me start with Violet and "Jilbert" (you're hiding your identity so well Major πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚). Violet taking orders from Gilbert was always her love language to him. Neither of them knew it at the time, but that was her way of loving him. As y'all said, it wasn't just Gilbert that taught her to love. Her clients and her coworkers at CH Postal all taught her how to love, too. Now, I do have problems with this love story, but it's not (fully) about the age difference. What really irks me about this romance is the fact that Gilbert basically raised her and yet sees her in a romantic way, which is a huge ick factor for me! Let's not forget that Violet was around 14ish years old the last time she saw the major before this movie, which is where the rest of the ick factor comes in (she's a child!)! Always made sense to me why Violet sees Gilbert the way she does, but never the other way around for me! Really wish they had just made it a foster parent/child type of love (like with Claudia and Violet), but, oh well. Can't get everything you want. Still, I do resonate with their story for a lot of other reasons, but I won't get into that because this is already an essay πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ€£ Now, the portion of this movie that really turns me into a puddle of tears is the Yuris storyline 😭😭😭😭😭. It's just so beautiful and heartbreaking! Yuris finally got to tell the people most important (including Lucas; I guess that infernal contraption isn't so bad lol) to him how he really feels πŸ₯ΉπŸ₯ΉπŸ₯Ή. I'm gonna move on now since I'll start crying again if I keep talking about this part of the movie... The way this movie ties Ann and her granddaughter into the narrative is genius, beautiful, and emotionally damaging! Daisy piecing together Violet's story is so wholesome and just puts a nice little ribbon on the whole package that is the Violet Evergarden experience! I don't know why I keep watching this series. I guess I really enjoy emotionally damaging myself πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I've become dehydrated from 2 hours of ugly crying... Don't do this to me again this year, I need time to recover.

At the beginning of the movie, Violet told the mayor, "I am not a person who deserves praise." Little did she know that one day she would be pictured on a postage stamp and honored for generations. And we will never forget her, never. PS. This movie won the Japan Academy Film Prize for Animation of the Year in 2021.

It's not explicitly explained in the story, but the timeline of the movie is 60 years later. The old lady at the museum is the long-haired woman who worked at the reception, Nerine. If you compare them closely, you'll see she's wearing the same black striped shirt. It looks like Ann died relatively young at 71, but I'm sure Taylor is doing well :)

Kiss wanting to throw hands every time my boy said his piece had me totally wheezing πŸ˜‚ And Haylo running out of tears was so relatable 😭 Super glad that you two were able to experience the entirety of this masterpiece!!! I've been hoping that you'd get to enjoy what I believe is the greatest story ever written (and you can quote me!) since Dec. 2023, and the wait was totally worth it!! It was really cool to be able to watch alongside y'all and see how each new development throughout the whole series (and more importantly, the final movie) stirred something in you two, just as it did for many of us. Hope you guys won't forget about our girl Violet! ✌️

I just sat down with my dinner and saw this was posted, Friday night feels and a meal.

Simply spectacular! I can't believe they started us off with a connection to Ann. We saw Daisy hold something with Violet's picture and I was hoping and praying that it would end up being a picture of Gilbert and her. I'm going to guess that Violet's final question to the students was, "Does his eye color match my brooch?" I'm so thrilled that Daisy continued the trend of writing a letter about Violet! Lastly..... When Daisy went to Leiden and visited the museum and the old lady who spoke to her, what if that was Taylor?!?! Maybe she had long finished delivering letters and then became a receptionist.

First, can't take it!
