2025-04-30 17:37:38 +0000 UTCOne Piece often gets criticized for characters/villains not dying (minus flashbacks), but this arc wouldn't be so fluid if it wasn't for Oda essentially "reviving" these characters. The anime is considerate in reminding the viewers who these characters are since, in real time, we haven't seen them in roughly 7 years, but it's much easier to hit the ground running since we know the personalities and antics of these characters. Personally, this arc is where I gained another level of appreciation for Oda's intricate and meticulous world/character building.

2025-04-30 17:19:38 +0000 UTCThere are female prisoners in Impel Down, but you are right, that most of those random prisoners who don't even got names are male. I guess that is just to make it simple and in some way to make it realistic. Men are comitting more crimes than women and there are mostly male pirates in One Piece. We got some amazing and strong female pirates, but all those unimportant small fry pirates are male.

So Ace respects Jinbe and Jinbe admires Whitebeard. He gotta be a great person. And he just declares an island his territory and that's enough to bring peace, because nobody wants to mess with Whitebeard. That is true greatness :)
