Such a cool realization that you guys had that I never noticed. Scar saw his peoples’ eyes as normal or not a significant color because that’s what he was used to seeing but the blue eyes stood out so much to him.

2025-05-01 09:10:56 +0000 UTCI also love the parallel between the red eyes of the ishvalans and the blue eyes of the Amestrians, that this whole time "red" alchemy was considered evil (or used in evil acts) and "blue" alchemy is good but the truth isn't always one or the other which leads to a lot of "grey" areas as depicted in the war with the grey background

Seeing Scar's backstory doesn't excuse his actions, but it definitely explains his actions. You feel for him despite all that he's done. I don't know if I would've had the restraint to spare Scar like Winry did (with an assist from Ed, of course). I guess I wouldn't know what I would do in that situation unless I was actually in that situation. The measure of a man or woman is difficult to decipher when things go well. It's much easier to decipher in moments like this. Yeah, Ling's a badass lol
