We don't want to believe what happened here. There was so much going on here, we loved it until we didn't. He was so close to figuring something out and we can't wait to know what it was! It somewhat gets easier with each rewatch but never less painful (imo, itβs so much worse in the original series because you spend so much time with him before his death in episode 26. At that ppint he genuinely was one of my favorite characters)

Hawkeye that he feels useless in that moment. Earlier in the series Hawkeye had said to him "You're useless when it's raining" because he can't use his flame alchemy.
