The bandana isn't exactly a powerup but it's almost always used to indicate when zoro is going all out / pushed to his limit. It usually goes 1-2 sword style = zoro somewhat trying, 3 sword style = he's trying a lot harder, 3 sword style with named attacks = he's dedicated to beating the enemy, any sword style (mainly 3 swords) with bandana = zoro going all out, usually for a final strike. Obviously there will be variations of this and it doesn't apply to every fight zoro is in, but in most cases the bandana coming on means zoro needs to lock in and use everything he has

Awesome reaction. Kiss is right on the money that the fire purified Ryuma since the zombies need a body to contain their shadow and the fire burned his up. Also, just to clarify your question about what Moria said regarding the shadows, he said that beating him up would not release all the shadows he controls. However, that's different from purifying specific zombies using the salt method that Brook told the Strawhats about. Looking forward to you guys finishing the arc.

Yes Zoro wasn't at his best with a missing sword.... but neither was Zombie Ryuma like others pointed out. Not only does he not have access to the real Ryuma's sword techniques and style, but he also only caught fire because he was a zombie and it's their weakness. Zoro is right to consider this as a dreammatch, not the real thing and to pay respects that way.

Keep in mind, this isn't Ryuma, Ryuma died a long time ago, this is his half decomposed body animated with the shadow of someone much much weaker than him. That is why Zoro says the duel never happened, because he knows he isn't facing the real Ryuma. The zombie itself also refers to the body in the 3rd person "this body of a samurai remembers..."

It's my favorite aspect of this fight neither of them are using their "correct" styles Zoro is missing one sword and Ryuma is fencing beacuse that is Brook's style but it isn't a good match to that body, it's like if Sanji's shadow was put on a Boxer's body.

Zoro vs Ryuma is one of my favorite fights even though it’s so short - the level of swordsmanship, the mutual respect, and sheer destruction is incredible. It really shows how strong Ryuma’s original body was, and how far Zoro has come.
