The one thing I will say about the intro and outro to this show is that get played sometimes as the show is closing out so you’ll prob hear the song either way.

FMAB let’s go! It is a little weird for me to hear it in Japanese though. I think it’s obvious that anime is usually better in its original language. Heck maybe the Japanese prefer hearing Disney animated movies in English lol. I personally enjoy dubbed anime because I can understand it more clearly, and I usually check them out after I watch the original subbed. The big 3 dubbed has a special place in my heart since they are nostalgic but all in all I am a sub guy, and I believe most anime watchers are usually as well. However, FMAB and DBZ have got to be the exception! In all honestly, I probably need to give FMAB sub a try, but I once gave the DBZ original sub a try and it’s almost a completely different show lol. Okay, so between one piece and FMA brotherhood, my two favorite anime/manga, I literally have something to watch from you guys every weekday. This is so great😁 It’s an amazing show, and it’s really well written, with some great setups and payoffs down the line. You guys are going to love this.😁

Yeah it’s pretty noticeable. I did the math, starting around episode 15, it’s like a 20-25% drop in chapters per episode, even excluding 2 filler eps, 2 chapters that were never adapted, and some super long chapters near the end.

Yess, the manliest of men, Alex Louis Armstrong is here! This show had an earlier incarnation (just called Fullmetal Alchemist) that ended differently from this version because the manga wasn't done by the time so the anime folks just made up their own ending but the older one I feel starts better in that it doesn't just toss you directly into the action but sets up stuff a bit first.

I understand that people Like it more in dub (Im Not one of them btw), I get that some will have some Nostalgia towards it and also when a show finally has a good Dub it will be held in a higher regard since its finally a very well done one. Either way I think sub also won the poll since people who dont have english as their First Language will Vote for sub. Unfortunately, for you, this is a common occurrence in most popular anime. I like it but I know it's not for everyone. It's something you'll have to either grit your teeth through and accept or just ignore the anime like you did. Be prepared though, you'll get this a lot. It's a popular thing to use. FMA is a great anime. If you can get around the comedic trope it's actually quite worth the watch. Good luck!

Totally get the showrunners there buuut... it does the show no real favours imo. The introduction to the world and the characters is done so much better in the manga/original anime. Not gonna do into details cause of spoilers but the 2 first episodes in the OG anime is one of my favourite introductions to any show.

Before AoT was the anime people recommended to everyone it was FMA, I've forgotten what it was before that... I want to say maybe Evangelion? Not talking about the big shonen stuff ofc, but the "how to get your friends into anime" ones. To convince them it's not all just half naked ladies or kids shows.

probably because japanese still sounds better or more familiar for watching anime. also if english is not your foreign language it is much easier to understand the context by reading instead of listening. Just my opinion as someone who has english as a second language.

So I will say this about dubbed; this is one of the best dubbed anime out there. The VOs did an amazing job, I just wish you would give it a shot, but I understand that the votes are in. The voice over for this anime in english is top tier, definitely top 3 just for how well they portrayed the characters. I get this feeling that the majority of your fanbase are just 'sub only' fans because quite frankly, I have no clue how sub won over dub. I'm actually shocked by that. Ah well, subbed it is.

tiny bit of background - there was an original anime back in 2003 that branched off from the manga around episode 30ish, and then started telling its own story (which imo was not as good) when this show relaunched in 2009 with a plan to more faithfully follow the manga, those 30ish episodes were compressed to 13-14, some scenes were removed, and the first episode is an anime original that tries to tie up those missing pieces (the freezing alchemist is an anime only character) I think the show runners just didn't want to make the audience wait to get back to where the manga and the original 2003 anime diverged, so if the pacing feels off at all in the beginning of the show that's the reason beyond that, I would take note of Sam Nicholas's comment about the after episode scenes, there are quite a lot of them in this show

Usually i would agree that anime should be watched subbed, but this one is in my oppinion much better dubbed, I find that the original voices arent always that great, where as the english ones kills it all the way through. Highly recommend you try the dub out on your own time for a few of the first episodes and make up you own mind before commiting to the sub.

Great video! Just a heads up for this show, there are a ton of post credit scenes but not on every episode so they’re easy to miss. Keep an eye out for 6, 8, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 36, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 48, 49. The endings for 45, 54, 63, and 64 are different too. Enjoy the show, it’s one of the very best!

If you’re doing sub all the way thru I recommend you give the dub a try sometime on your own time if you plan a second watch thru. I’m usually a sub guy but for me it’s very rare for an English dub to be so good in my opinion. Sub takes me out sometimes depending on the place/ characters/ settings.

Just a heads up regarding the two new shows: One Punch Man isn't as story heavy, so the comment section there should be pretty safe, but for FMAB you should be a bit more careful. It's more of a mix, similar to One Piece
