that honestly seems farfetched. though I get where you're coming from, the mood/context of the scene doesn't seem like it since it clearly showed Edel speaking towards Richter and him responding to her.

I heard it was a gag because he was the mage who walked in by himself and he had no relevance hence "who are you?"

As a writer, you want every combat scene to tell a story, advance the plot or enrich the lore, and we got that in droves this episode. Apparently Frieren knows some kind of telekinesis magic that does not register as magic - I wonder what's up with that. The last time she used this spell (is it a spell?) was against the Demon King. Does that mean it's some kind of a forbidden technique she's wary of using, or does it have some serious drawback where it's only useful in some situations? Because it seems damn useful to be able to crush your opponent without them even realising they've been attacked. Very interesting.

2025-01-25 17:10:43 +0000 UTC14:22 I do love how she is basically so delusional that she convinces herself of her own BS, and uses that to turn the magic system against itself. Maybe that's how she copies these spells? Like she told herself, "If I think like that person, then I could imagine what they're imagining and thus be able to use their spells" - it's some warped logic, but it seems to work somehow. At least that's my guess. I wouldn't call that a genius, but she's certainly an anomaly. Which is why I hope we don't have to fight her in Season 2, that would be scary.

2025-01-25 17:04:07 +0000 UTCWhen you finish season one, the manga continues the story. Pretty sure if there is a season 2, it will follow the manga since S1 followed the manga pretty closely. Recommend H&K do "My Hero Academia" next after Frieren.

2025-01-25 16:55:08 +0000 UTCI love how Sense and Wirbel immediately knew that Ubel would win against Sense's copy while everyone else was so surprised lol. Ubel struggles against pure defensive spells since they're pure magic, but add anything physical into the mix and she can cut it with that spell of hers. Mama Frieren was so proud of our not-so-little Fern 😁😁😁 I truly believe that Fern could've finished off Frieren's copy, but she hesitated just long enough for the copy to catch her off guard, allowing the real Frieren to get the win. Seeing Frieren go all out is fun. Gotta love seeing Frieren stuck in a golden mimic 🤣🤣🤣 No one ever passed a Sense-proctored exam before and now there's all these people passing because of Frieren and Fern lol
