To clarify this further, Luffy isn't turning his body to rubber, it IS rubber, so it retains those properties. Even if he's underwater, his body will stretch. Notably it wasn't him who stretched his neck out of the water, it was Nojiko (or the pinwheel hat guy)

It's more like, they don't have the strength to use them (just my theory), as you can recall Luffy being stuck in the water during his fight with Arlong and Nojiko stretching his head out of the water for him so he could breath There might be some inconsistencies here and there, I'm not really sure, but one rule is for certain... The gag always wins 🙂

Anyway maybe one day you can do cover-stories reading too? Just for fun additional stories of what happened to other characters after some arcs. The Baroque Works one was especially fun.

Each one is about 30-ish? pictures, and there aren't even a whole lot overall, there's only like 5 of them right now they can look at without spoilers. It would be a smaller commitment than doing SBS's.

2025-01-10 15:31:02 +0000 UTCBleh, something like a year before the Live action release a buttload of stuff got leaked because the Baratia arc got cut into an Arlong intro (fans aboard the crew probably got pissed and leaked it). Arlong using a splash of Water to beat luffy was a pain cause it doesn't follow the regular rules, especially with this SBS clarifying, but they probably thought they already committed too deep in the messing things up narratively so they didn't mind. I chalked it up as some sort of specific Fishman Karate technique for coating devil fruit users.
