As Garp mentioned it takes the Warlords and the Marines together to keep them at bay and to keep the peace.

But given what Garp knows of the world and how dangerous the world is I think he did the most responsible thing he could. Garp prepared Luffy for the dangers of the world. While people like Ussop would normally die immediately after leaving the east blue.

Although the Garp reveal is kinda ruined after the live action, I guess this episode is still amazing and still has enough to reveal.

2025-01-03 14:52:12 +0000 UTCI think a decent chunk of fans weren't too happy with the Garp reveal happening so early in the live action since this reveal is so fun. But, considering they only had 8 episodes and that they went in the direction of making Koby more of a main character, revealing Garp's connection to Luffy is a good hook for their adaption. Although, I'm not a fan of how Garp was handled in the LA at all 😭 they gave him such a weird vibe compared to the anime/manga.
