8:44 I think this is probably the moment Himmel decided to never tell Frieren about his feelings, so she wouldn't be bound by a promise/have to go through the same pain 😭 21:23 Did stubborn granny pick that name for herself after getting to know Gorilla Warrior, so she wouldn't be forgotten either, or at least to humour him? That's sweet. 25:05 It really is kind of sad that no one remembers Kraft's deeds. Hopefully he told Frieren about it and we'll get to know eventually, too. But I do wonder after seeing those statues: There was a human priest and then there was Kraft as a Warrior - did Kraft become a priest/monk after his adventure with that goatee priest, or at least religious? Kind of like Frieren got influenced by Himmel? I hope we'll run into Kraft more in the future!

Kiss: "I bet the reason will be heartbreaking." Called it! @3:55 Old Man Voll hasn't been mentioned by name before, but in episode 4 with Eisen they found Flamme's journal in the ruins by the big tree in the Voll basin. Kraft in episode 11: "Everyone who knew of my righteous triumphs has died."

In Feb of 2023 my dad passed. For the 5 months before that after his bad stroke he was unaware of his situation, started saying things he hasn't since I was a kid, and going to be with him during physical therapy broke me down more and more every day I went. I remember vividly the last time I hugged him. Shortly after he was put on hospice. That scene with Voll reopened those feelings. I miss my dad. 😞 I'm so sorry you experienced that.. big hugs..

I'm glad you pointed out Frieren not correcting Old Man Voll. It flies over people's heads. What Frieren does for Old Man Voll is a very nuanced and subtle act of compassion. When someone's memory is escaping them, it can be very upsetting and unsettling to be told of it at every instance. So, when Frieren finally realizes he truly has become senile, instead of shocking him with them having killed the Demon King 80 years prior she simply says nothing and let's it be. This sort of thing will go unnoticed unless you've experienced a loved one developing dementia or something of the sort. It's an incredibly deep kindness she showed Voll in that moment. And seeing as he is at the end of his life, it will be another beautiful reunion when they reach heaven, no doubt.

Seeing Voll this time hit me harder than when I read the manga, because my father started to have some dementia and it kind of reminded me of my conversation with him over christmas, where he knew my brother and I are important to him, but he forgot, that he was our actual father.. That aside, new German words: "Klar" (region of first part) -> clear "Voll" (name of the old dwarf - new context, but same word as Halyo pointed out) -> full "Rohr" (road of second half) -> pipe "Nagel" (blacksmith in the other village) -> nail "Tür" (city where Gorilla went to) -> door

Old man Voll. Adorable but deadly. Glad that Stark got to train with him, even if it was only a week. Kraft being immortalized in stone, only for people to forget him. At least Frieren can carry on his name. This show is a parallelogram with all these parallels. I apologize for the terrible joke lol
