About the explanation "Why Luffy doesn't kill anybody" - I've heard/read a theory, that (partially) because of the same reason, Luffy refused to fight Bellamy in Jaya at first. He saw that Bellamy didn't have a dream and hence wasn't worth fighting for. This also gives more sense to Blackbeard's comment when Luffy and Zorro met him outside the bar. As soon as Bellamy hurt our friends however, Luffy was determined to fight him.

Oda pulls from all forms and aspects of culture from everyday clothes to epics and myths. He then combines them with other elements. By pulling from so many different cultures he’s able to craft an adventure that’s still going strong almost 3 decades later.

2025-01-01 17:49:56 +0000 UTCFyi, the Japanese "a" is pronounced how you would in the word "ah/aw". They don't really have an "ay" sound like you would see in the word "day." Closest thing would be an "e" sound that you would see in the word "bed." Also, I love Oda and his random craziness lol

That one is from opcoverstories dot wordpress (not sure if links are allowed in the chat). But that version has "recent posts" on the right side, which can be spoilers. I think if they stick to the videos and don't look at the creators main page, they should be fine. The non-narrated version from Young Star Hemanth / Rubraformica is the safer bet, because the creator of the narrated version also does videos covering recent manga chapters, which could spoil them in the thumbnails if they aren't careful

If you're in contact with them in any form, you can also double check those, because some other versions are bad quality or not properly translated (especially the Hatchan one)

I often tried to mention some of these kind of background information that are no spoilers, because I find them so adorable. 2025-01-01 14:42:01 +0000 UTCOda has researched a lot it seems, one of the things that make OP so great is that he imports a lot of things from all over the world, will it be some names, myths or legends, or somebody else's novels or poems, some might come from modern days, some from middle ages, some even from Ancient Greece. Some pirate names and their stories are somewhat mirrored in OP. There is a lot, I don't know how Oda does it, but he is certainly a very educated person and truly a genius to use all of these in his own story so flawlessly. Not surprising, that Oda is the 10th best-selling fiction author ever.
