LOL awwwwww, If you guys react like this to this show I can't wait to see your Sword Art reaction ♥

Jayson Phillips

I was going to say, is this the next One Piece?

Todd

PS: Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but Frieren is the kind of show where you can read more into things/symbolism, and it just fits: With Ferm's bracelet having a blossoming lotus, while Frieren's lotus is still a bud, perhaps showing the feelings they have for the one they got the gift from. Or Himmel knowing the meaning of the ring, while Frieren didn't meaning it was one sided. With Fern and Stark both not knowing until someone told her perhaps meaning that they have feelings for the other that they are not aware of (yet).

21:40 Oh no, the Himmel Pavlov effect. For me, it's that theme when he drops to his knees. I always tear up. 22:15 "She didn't even realise she was married to the man" Had a good chuckle over that one. And the carrot 😂. 26:13 That unfortunately happens to a few people, and I'm no exception. When you're about 10 years older and suddenly realise - "that girl/guy back then loved me", but also that it's too late...

Forced Marriage.... Himel you DAWG!

The meaning behind the flower needs to become a twist for a Hallmark Christmas movie! Imagine the character's names having a link to them, like Himmer and Fren I read through the other comments and I'm glad that I'm mentioning this... We saw here how they mentioned Heiter as a picky eater. We saw him give what he didn't like to Frieren. I remember back when we met Fern and he was giving her his broccoli. Never apologize for feeling the emotions you get for something as incredible as love

New German words "Raad" (the city they were in, correct spelling: "Rat") -> advice, council "Bande" (the forest they were in) -> gang, clique (not sure what it's refrerencing here) Note: I usually check the "correct spelling" from the German subtitles - and usually it does fit the story, like here it happened that Sein gave Fern some advice :)

Sankai

Ok, this was Haylo’s favorite episode, and she does’t have to tell it.

Manuel Cucalon

Of course I didn't have a problem with all the crying but I was thinking something along the lines of "yes Haylo its sweet but not THAT sweet" until you explained why at the end. I'm really happy for you that you have that kind of love in your life, and I appreciate you sharing that with us.

My_Cousin_Mose

May I recommend going back to watch the intro every now and again? Imo it’s always a nice treat once in a while

it's not stupid. remember Frieren in the beginning said she barely got to know Himmel. yet, we're figuring out (as she's figuring out) that she knew him so much more than she realized and that he was actually in love with her. so many episodes in this series brought tears to my eyes for different reasons. a masterpiece of storytelling right here.

My two favorite sounds that I think they go so perfect are in this episode. When Frieren slides down the roof shingles to talk to Sein, and then Himmel's cape fluttering as he drops to a knee is so perfect its unreal.

It’s great I can experience this masterpiece again. One piece was my fave anime until this wee elf turned my world. Upside down.

Oakfield Massive

the scene of Himmel proposing <3

And thus the confirmation of a tragic love story haha. Well tbh I don't see it all too sad, obviously the fact that Frieren realizing this 30 years later is sad but Himmel has definitely proven he knows Frieren even better than she knows herself at times. The look on his face meaning he knows what the Mirrored Lotus represents and decided he didn't need to/wasn't going to tell her because he knew that was enough REALLLLY gets me lol -- Also, I love Sein so much haha that cool older brother/uncle and Fern and Stark are soooo cute!

pmreez

Please 😂

Haylo

This was a great episode, I was tearing up too. I am excited to see what happens next.

Watching this episode, it hit me for the first time that there is kind of something tragic to the journey that they are taking right now. The fact that she comes to finally understand this group with whom she travelled for a mere 10 years (lol), is great and it comes with beautiful feelings on their way to heaven. But it saddens me to think of the fact that everything she learns about them, she learns like 30 years too late. To think that she had a ring, that she considered just another gift from Himmel to the point that it was in her suitcase under everything else that she brought, that she now realized had a much deeper meaning to the person who gave it to her... It's beautiful but absolutely heartbreaking. Now, that she knows, it's just bittersweet. I think that's why this phrase "If you want a person to know how you feel, you need to tell them" all the more important. And again, I'm watching it for the first time here, so no spoilers, 🤣

Also side note: how big of a swing in emotions to go from this to DanDaDan in one day😂

Israel

lol

Drift3r

Lord yall need a sponsorship with some tissue brand because the feels just get deeper from here on out 😂 The amount of tears pooling in my eyes only to drop in laugher due to yall also feeling the same is very cathartic🥲This show keeps reminding us to live each day to the fullest and cherish those whom you'd hold close. Another lovely reaction and onto the next one!

Israel

I knew this episode would be a heavy hitter in the feels department.

Drift3r

Oh boy. I dunno how they're gonna survive the season finale.

Grumples

Gods I love that image of them when Himmel puts the ring on and they're framed with the clocktower behind them. Having the only thing separating them being time cause its Eternal love so he'll always love her even if it took her a bit to figure out. So glad I sub to y'all great reaction

Terrance

Aww never apologize for showing and feeling genuine emotions during a reaction! This episode is tragically beautiful and hopeful at the same time. I think the reason Himmel didn't explicitly tell her (despite it being obvious to anyone who isn't Frieren haha) is because his love for her was so gentle and pure; he knew she simply wasn't ready/there yet to understand, appreciate, and reciprocate his love, and even if he told her it wouldn't have changed her feelings at the time. I also think his proposing gesture was one he knew she wouldn't understand then, but would in the future and wanted to let it be known...The symbolism of the clock tower, showing time is the only thing standing between their eternal love UYYYYYY TEARS WHILE TYPING

"A mirrored carrot design. In this region, people give them to other people who have vitamin A deficiency."

As I've said many times already, I love the parallels in this anime/manga, but another thing I love, is seeing how differently some characters will see another character just because of when they knew that character. Most of Frieren's time with Heiter was when he was a "corrupt priest" so that is how she sees him, while Fern and Sein see him as a kind, old priest since they knew him when he was older and wiser, although he did tell Fern that "alcohol is the best medicine" (or something like that) in one of the previous episodes lol I also love how Sein is taking the uncle/much older big brother role with Stark and Fern. Just doling out these little nuggets of wisdom and such to them and having the patience to just listen to what they have to say. Frieren does much of the same thing in her own Frieren way, but them seeing another perspective from Sein is definitely helping in the communication department since Frieren is still learning about effective communication herself. Also, since elves don't really think about romance and reproduction, Frieren's not gonna be much help there. The bracelet and ring of the same design that Fern and Frieren were given by Stark and Himmel is just too pure (parallels again lol). However, the difference is that Stark chose the bracelet for Fern (poor guy, searching for 3 hours for it lol) and Frieren chose the ring. I love how the choosers (and Fern) didn't know what those accessories meant, but how it fits anyway ❤️❤️❤️ Himmel just becomes better and better with each episode, doesn't he? Also, congratulations, Haylo, on your marriage, even though you've probably been married for a bit 🎉🎉🎉

Half way through!

Wake

the meaning behind the ring 🥹😭 such a beautiful episode

toasty

The biggest lore drop this episode is that Haylee is married lol.

Freeofgreed

That was a beautiful episode along with a lovely reaction.

Jake Smith

also @kiss, the merchant was an accossories merchant. he said that when they first hitched a ride. So a merchant specializing in selling accessories seems very plausible to have a spell that lets him not only find accessories for his customers but also his own inventory if he dropped something or lost it, seeing as it's his livelyhood. :) It's a convenient coincidence to have HIM be there, or maybe it was fate, or the goddess giving Frieren the opportunity to praise her own relationships, probably bceause Heiter would probably be telling stories to the Goddess about how savage Frieren was to leave himmel alone for 50 years lol

Cyber

When Haylee finally realized what Himmel knew what Frieren did not... They were trickling the "it's the same design" all episode, and frieren didn't realize this entire time that Himmel loved her and then u can see the moment when it CLICKED. I think her world just glitched for a second lol... That 1/10th percent of her lifespan, has changed her forever. And she didn't even know it until she made NEW connections. If she had gone to just live her life the same way as before, she wouldn't have been put into these situations where people explain to her things that she missed the first time aroudn :) Never apologize for crying or showing emotions, Haylo. That's quite literally what this episode was episode: don't be afraid to communicate or share your emotions or else you'll just lose opportunities or think that the other person doesn't care. Like Sein said.
