A bit late to the comments on this but if you're curious about Granny's weapon, it goes a lot into supernatural/ paranormal concepts of exorcisms, wards, and banishment of other worldly entities. So iron which i assume is what the bat is made out of is known to be a metal that can hurt or burn certain spirits or ghosts as it's a pure metal. While the large pencil could be a variant on holy or sacred wood, an example is palo santo where the tip is sharpened and burned to use it's essence/ scent to cleanse or purify the air like how people use incense to make the air smell pleasant. The other idea of it comes from the idea of why/ how a wooden steak driven into vampires hearts could hurt/ kill them is that it's not just normal wood but these are holy stakes carved from these sacred wood that's used as weapons to banish/ kill the supernatural. Sorry if this is a long response lol I'm just super obsessed with the supernatural and occult stuff.
