Stoltz was proud of his brother, and he was the pride of his town/family.

She was shaking because she was standing on her tip toes to try and speak "face to face" with Frieren. You can see her drop down for a moment at 5:30 before she gets back up. Its adorable.

Didn't expect episodes over the holidays ^^' This is one of the moments which are better in the anime than in the manga - so emotional :') New German words: Appetit (second village) - same as in English Stoltz (correct spelling: Stolz) - pride/proud - his brother being so proud of Stark makes it a suitable name!

Don't apologise for crying, we're all crying along with you 🥹 your willingness to be vulnerable and genuine with your emotions on camera is a big part of why we're following along with this journey with you guys 😊 Happy holidays everyone!

I knew you guys would love this show and pick up on all the little things that were put together so well to tell us this incredible story in this way. Merry Christmas :)

Everyone who works hard is a warrior. 💪

I was in the same boat. I heard about it when it first dropped but never got around to checking it out. I watched up to episode 10 with them for the first time, but this anime is so amazing that I couldn't help but binge it all. Now it's the waiting game.

Jake Smith

I was crying along with you guys.. nothing is wrong with you lol this show is so amazing.

Do you remember what Stark said to Frieren when they met? He said that Eisen never congratulated Him as a Warrior, and in this episode he realized that Eisen recognized his effort every year in his birthday, without telling him directly

It seems dumb when one types it out, but it really is soul-healing. It's a mixture of nostalgia, melancholy, life-affirmation, and a type of aching that still feels good, and that just seems like a an incredibly hard tightrope to pull off in any form of media. It nails the visuals, the action set pieces, the background art, the Evan Call score, the pacing, the narrative arcs, the character development, the introduction and fleshing out of even minor side characters--just everything about this anime is S-tier and you can tell all the creatives involved also loved shaping it. It's the top of the MAL rankings STILL and deserves the near-universal praise that it gets.

Agreed, this show excels at hitting the feels button with these simple little moments. That being said, I did love when Frieren got that mischievous look on her face when she went digging in her suitcase for the potion that makes clothes disappear. I also loved Fern's stern disapproval reaction too it. Their dynamic is just so on point. LOL

This episode is one of many that doesn't fail to make me tear up LOL. I love Stark, I hope him glancing at the sword means one day he'll be the hero the uses it. Cool theory I've seen floated around, the legend says the sword will only be pulled by the hero who will face some "great calamity" and if Himmel defeating the Demon King with the party wasn't the Calamity it spoke of... I wonder what sort of danger lies ahead

Appreciate the siblings on this one. Me and my brothers are tight so I get teary-eyed on this one. Also I think the village chief was on her tippy-toes trying to match up/talk down to Frieren, but couldn't keep her balance

100% agree about how well written the show is, the crazy part is it's even better on second and third watch bc theres so many little moments they show early on without context and it's not until episodes later that you get context, watching back it's genuinely insane how many moments like that there are starting all the way in ep 1.

Fern constantly calling Stark a perv in this episode is hilarious, especially since it's because of misunderstandings or because of Stark not knowing what she's talking about. Well, it was understandable with the clouds. On the other hand, it's not like he knew about what the clothes-dissolving potion does 🤣🤣🤣 Frieren, Eisen, Stark, and Stark's brother with the giant Hamburg steaks to honor hard-working warriors (and honorary warriors) is too wholesome ❤️❤️❤️ Stark's brother telling him to run, well, every time I see that, I get so close to crying

I've never watched this anime before, watching it at the same time as you do, but this anime... I've never seen anything like this, it's so well written and the moments where there's action it's cool and it feels epic, and then you have those episodes where you can relate and feel through the different flashbacks, I think it will go in my top 10 of all time by the end of it

Watt

really beautiful story and loving how fern and frieren were both there with him as well 🥹
