Mass Effect fic return....(Gamer)

This fic would take place after humanity has joined the wider galaxy and would either be an SI or OC, op of course, who eventually joins Shepard's crew
I may update sporadically as i have a lot on my plate with the three fics i am doing but i wanted to hear your thoughts

For the uplift fic I would have humanity have atleast 200 years of development. This would give them enough time to focus on other technologies other than eezo. I would also have humanity encounter other species of aliens that can become allies as most other mass effect stories just have the citadel council and most other aliens of the mass effect universe. One species that I can think would be good to have are the cerinians from star fox or the mysterious bird species in mass effect the raloi.

2025-06-29 15:32:24 +0000 UTCAlso there is no way humanity wouldn't immediately miltarise and have fleets/flotillas stationed at planets on the borders of Human space. Especially after learning that humanity are truly not alone but had a war for first contact. Adding human intelligence agencies learning about other races the batarians and geth been threats, it confuses me massively about humanity in mass effect.

2025-06-29 12:14:55 +0000 UTCWell for starters (for the Uplift fic) you can mess with the timeline by giving Humanity two centuries of buildup time so that the Systems Alliance meets the Turians and Citadel in the 2300's, and then have the games take place two centuries later in the 2500's. Don't quote me on this, but I recall hearing how that was the original plan for the Mass Effect timeline before they compressed things into the canon timeline. Would make it simpler to write a story without needing to bullrush things since there's now breathing room and Humanity has had time to buildup their economy, infrastructure, population and military, compared to the canon Systems Alliance.
