So, Aokiji actually mentioned that the frog's name was Yokouzuna. It's a reference to Sumo wrestling, where Yokouzuna is the highest rank a Sumo wrestler can have. It means "Horizontal Rope" (according to wiki) and is denoted by a thick rope they wear around their waist. And of course in sumo they wear those loin cloths, which is what we saw the frog wearing. It's not a crazy important detail or anything, just a fun fact mostly.

We learned that there are 3 admirals: Akainu, Aokiji and Kizaru Note that these are just their nicknames: Akainu = "Red dog", Aokiji = "Blue pheasant", Kizaru = "Yellow monkey" They all have their "real" names. I'm not sure even Aokijis name got revealed yet, but that confused me a lot - so watch out for their names :) For the water: Devil fruit users can touch water - it's just that when they're submerged over a certain amount, then they get weak. This was confirmed in an SPS of Oda to explain how they take showers/baths, though not precised in the anime. This also contradicts some anime-only stuff like how weak Luffy got during the race just because he had his arms submerged in the sea. As for another difference between anime and manga: Aokiji actually appeared in front of Tonjits house. He then froze the sea in the same manner to help Tonjit and Shelly cross the sea to catch up with their tribe. As he's deliberatly helping one of the strawhats friends, imo it shows another side to him.

The anime changed that to make it more compatible with the fillers. Love how casually he destroys the Monster Trio. That's an admiral for you :D And his motto is Lazy Justice, arara.

2024-10-11 20:04:01 +0000 UTCWell since you’re skipping 220 on, can I give you a brief overview? ——————— (This is all from memory, last time I saw this was in 2021) Basically, the whole town is under mind control of some little kid with a seahorse companion that he carries around. They are hypnotized while they sleep via dreams. Robin, the night owl that she is, stays up all night and hears a mysterious song. Morning comes and the whole crew that wakes up, wakes up with no recent memory. Usopp is afraid because he’s on a pirate ship far from his island, worrying about Kaya and the Usopp pirates, chopper is scared of all these “strangers”, Nami steals her own treasure thinking she needs it for Arlong to save her village, Zoro jumps off the boat and swims to town, Luffy wants to find a crew, etc. and none of them know eachother. Robin, her memory intact, tries to persuade them that they are all crew mates, but she doesn’t have much luck as majority of the crew take off in disbelief. I’m pretty sure Sanji believes her bc it’s Sanji and Robin is beautiful lol. Whole town is similar where they don’t really know anything bc their memories are eaten frequently. In short, Robin is picking up all the pieces, trying to fix the crew. Zoro and Luffy have a big 1v1 fight. Robin persuades some of crew to atleast help search for their memories. Come to find out that the mysterious kid responsible was himself also being mind controlled. The seahorse that he carried was the true culprit that used the kid to help him eat memories to gain power. Luffy fights the seahorse and every time he lands a good punch, one of the crew members regains memory. Slowly the crew comes together to defeat the seahorse and return all the memories to the crew and the whole village. I don’t remember the village’s response, but crisis is averted all thanks to Robin. The end.

I remember watching this and thinking, "Oh crap, we're going to have to fight him soon aren't we?" And we fight him in the same episode! Such an interesting introduction to a character. We get his silliness first, then we get the bada**ery, much like our introduction with Luffy lol

It’s just the Gorosei saying Aokiji is on the move to an island and teasing him, but Episode 226 covers Aokiji directly so they’re still fully informed. It’s understandable tho to want them to watch that 1 minute, but it’s not a big deal if they don’t. The impact of Aokiji was great nonetheless💙

It's beyond imagination. Frog Frog Fruit ☺ Is it a train-like ship? I love One Piece.
