I just want to say Afro Luffy is in my top 5 favorite Luffy transformations. Also in that top 5 is Water Luffy (in the fight against Crocodile) and Luffy Daze against Eneru. I'll point out the others when we get there

While the games were fun, I definitely just liked the three original games, although the first race was already spiked with filler stuff and the outcomes were quite different.
If you're not interested on the differences to the manga, you can ignore this comment :)
Main changes:
Game 1: Race - Only Usopp, Nami and Robin's boat is racing against Porchs boat. They also choose Chopper.
Notable changes: Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Chopper do get distracted as in the anime, however they are distracted on land, so Foxy can use his tactics to slow down our boat. Imho big change: It was Usop's idea to use the impact dial and he used it without being scared (though in the anime he already used it in G8, making it more understandable why he's reluctant here...)
Game 2: Ball-Game - pretty much the same as in the anime. Main difference at the end: Luffy gets Chopper back, not leaving his crewmate hanging, which is imho out of character. Imho Foxy also literally had no claim to the ownership of Sherry, so there wouldn't be any need for him to get her back.. To be fair: In the manga she got actually shot and is recovering while the games take place, rather than being caught with a net.
Other games in between: Pure fillers
Last Game: Pretty much the same as the anime. Just the outcome: As there was no change in the bet, since we already had Chopper back, there was no BS like "pick 500 of our crew" - therefore there was another "Who will Luffy choose" moment. Luffy simply takes the flag and draws the sail.
This imho makes his decision "better", because Foxy's crew stays also together and Luffy does not "destroy" another crew an their potential friendships. This also makes it harder on them, that he actually took the flag - because they haven't been chosen and actually are part of a flagless crew.
After the games:
Tonjit and Sherry don't meet another person from his tribe - instead the events starting from episodes 226 immediately happen after the games. As we haven't watched it yet, I won't go into details though :X

Why even bother? Just watch it. All of One Piece is great. The only thing I’d ever suggest skipping are the alternate timeline filler episodes where the crew are samurai in the Edo period and stuff like that.
They just finished saying how much they enjoyed this Foxy experience and now you’re telling them to skip the next short little Foxy encounter?

It would be best to watch 226 from 15:34 as the rest is filler.
Then maybe do 227 and 228 with it in the same video?
Thanks for all the great reactions, you're my favourite channel by far :D

Yes that's right. some parts of 225 and the last part of 226. It's like 1 minute and 5 seconds long in 225 after opening song ends. So after the 225 opening song ends. There is some Cannon storyline worth 1minute and 5 seconds long. And then comes the Title. Weird how they does that.

I'm so glad you guys watched that arc. Foxy is one of my favorite villians. He's probably one of Luffy's least dangerous foes, more of a rival. As the series goes on and thewy see each other more they do earn a mutual respect because depsite the cheating Foxy is not a bad guy. This next arc is going to be a long road full of tears so grab ther tissues before setting sail!

Fun fact, before One Piece, Oda made a few prototypes called "Romance Dawn" versions 1 and 2. (Version 3 is One Piece)
In Version 1, Luffy collected the jolly roger flags of his victims. I can't help but feel this was a callback to that.

First minute of 225 is canon - from the intro up to the title screen, but it's even better if you've skipped it, you were in for a bigger surprise later on :D That being said, you can go back and watch it.
And Afro Luffy... Bringing smile to people's faces since 2004 xD Phee-phe-phe-phe! XD

i love more episodes of the strawhats like this despite it being about winning his crew back it wasn’t anything luffy can’t do. it’s a nice break from having to save countries and the pressure they all have to face (alabasta + skypeia) & just any additional scenes of the crew like imagine missing all these cute chopper scenes, zoro + chopper, afro luffy, sanji & zoro working together, etc

🤷♂️I’m just saying, I figure if five important characters ever appear, no matter how briefly, it should be watch. But that’s just me.

I was talking about the info in that one minute in 225 that gets covered in the last part of 226 with additional context, not the exact sequence. I’m happy with both ways tho, a little build-up or the surprise 👍

Luffy taking the 497 Foxy Pirates that aren't part of their big 3 is so heartwarming! You know he's not going to keep them and he purposefully picks them so that they can go back to their true captain. Just another display of Luffy's great emotional intelligence 😁😁😁

The 1-minute canon part isn’t recapped in either Episode 226 or 227, I checked both episodes. If they just want exposition spoken from the Straw Hats, ok ig.
I just figure they would appreciate the gravitas from Episode 225 and get hyped before heading to watch the last few minutes of Episode 226.

While that 1 minute of Ep 225 is important, it actually gets covered again (with context) in Ep 226. So if someone is planning to watch both episodes, skipping that 1 minute intro won’t make a big difference.
It wouldn’t hurt to watch it, but it’s not a problem if they just watch the end of Ep 226💙

I believe the afro is a reference to the japanese boxer Yoko Gushiken, who famously had an afro and won WBA light-flyweight title after just nine pro matches :)

Please watch the 1-minute beginning part of Episode 225, before the title card of the episode appears. You will need context before watching the last little chunk of Episode 226. Its canon and important!
