We are going to have one more chapter before we move on to the slavers once more and the war to come with their first (idiotic) attack.

good chapter and a nice bit of diplomacy. will probably need as many warm body's has u can get to guard the wall. so making some alliances with the more reasonable houses is a good idea. plus will help stave of war if many houses are benefiting from deals with the north. plus there's still the greyjoys waiting in the wings to do something stupid. though maybe not after depending how owen deals with that slaver fleet. prehaps take a que from thor and remake mjolnir, would give him a good laugh. plus storm/lighting motif with the storm lord? looking forward to seeing how that war hammer is proberly going to spark a civil war when joffery cant pick it up.🤔

2025-02-02 19:51:26 +0000 UTCEhhhh I personally disagree. The stuff that the North is giving Dorne and the Reach is weak sauce, just food and better transportation. You would also do well to remember that every single automatron is under his control, which means if any southern kingdom that pisses the north off, he can basically just let them lose on the nobility. Also They get basically nothing. Additionally I think that the concessions that was accepted by the north was actually beneficial for them. Stannis only got 10 ships, and those ships are piloted solely by Northern crews and captains and only Stannis can get on. All it takes is for Stannis to go to war with the north or something like that to happen and those crews and captains will be back in white harbor in no time.

I was relatively surprised that Oberyn or Olenna didn't try and sneak a betrothal in, but I supposed unlike the Lannies and Bobby B, they can take a hint. Something I liked was the fact that you made it clear that ned cares about his people and other small folk. I personally think that Mace and Olenna don't necessarily care about their small folk besides subjects and tools but not in the way that Tywin views his small folk. I personally like to think that Oberyn actually cares about the small folk of Dorne, but I don't know how that'll pan out. Can't wait for the stupidity of the slavin idiots to come to fruition when they encounter a Northern ship. Also can't wait for the death of Roose. Regardless of whether it was Roose or Ramsay means little, the Bolton family needs to G O.

2025-02-01 15:54:07 +0000 UTCI hope Owen doesn't give Dorne, Reach or any other kingdom anything. Any resource they gave to them will be used against them when war inevitably comes. They won't help when Long Night comes so Owen shouldn't spend any time to help them. Oberyn and Olenna are hypocritical, they were like vultures during meeting with crown, now they want to be friends. They were content to extort North during harsh winters, now they want to be friends. Even if Owen help them, any benefits would concentrate on hands of Tyrells, Martells and their loyal vassals, they wouldn't share the prosperity with their vassals for free and give literally nothing to Smallfolk. Not to mention any help to Tyrells would strengthen Citadel and Faith both of which would gladly kill every northerner to have their secrets. Any help to Martells would make them more willing to rebel in support of a Targaryen once Robert dies without heir. Helping in anyway to south simply idiotic as those resources would only help potential enemies and eventually turn against the north. I also hope Ned doesn't pull a stupid move and spare Domeric Bolton or any other Bolton that might be alive. House Bolton should simply be destroyed Domeric can take the black. They actively tried to harm north, just for their own benefit, and now vultures circle Winterfell. Sure they can't exactly force North to do anything. But a traitor once is always a traitor. Boltons should be an example or other houses like Dustin, Ryswell or Karstarks might try their luck to undermine House Stark in the future.

Even shireen is going to be able to at least move the weapon, but none of roberts children will be able to do anything with it. I kinda want stannis to be able to have a weapon of that caliber (to a lesser degree) to pass down to shireen when she becomes his official heir.

2025-02-01 11:47:07 +0000 UTCI really liked this chapter, it showed why there is no need to play games with the south, Olenna and Oberyn really showed their intelligence here and everyone was in character, it's going to be very fun when the hammer refuses to work for Jeffrey, that's when things will get interesting.
