I hope this doesn't turn into an essay - this episode was executed perfectly! So much depth, so much symbolism, so much development. This is like essentially the quintessential 'prequel'. This is what 'prequels' should be. It ties up and answers SO many questions from S1/themovie. Carissa said it perfectly in your analysis, at the end of the ep, if someone hadn't seen s1/the movie, one would think it's Gojo who'd have turned into a bad guy, which only makes Geto's inevitable transformation that much more sad and intense. Another thing I love is how each fight has SO much at stake. This isn't your average action movie or even run of the mill anime, each fight has a purpose, all participants have huge stakes the outcomes of which can change the course of the entire story. Many people deride JJK with reductive criticism like 'it's just a bunch of gojo simps who love the anime' but this story truly has a lot of depth which is why I realllly wanted you guys to react to it and you both honestly did NOT disappoint. The cult members are non-sorcerers, while Riko, though not formally a sorceress, has cursed power which makes her part of the world of sorcery. This highlights how non-sorcerers live comfortably at the expense of sorcerers. Keep this context and the applause in mind for the next chapter, as they will be crucial. I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction to the next chapters.

2024-10-03 14:29:22 +0000 UTCThis episode is so amazing and beautiful, the ascension of Gojo was peak and we have to thank Sorcerer killer for pushing him to the limit. I believe Gojo was probably high by the Reverse cursed technique. Maybe his Six Eyes went into overdrive and that's why he felt no personal grudge and just thought everything felt so good (ecstasy). Like his hype of awakening plus the understanding of curse energy just exploded.
