G8 is filler but it has such a special place in our hearts that later on in the anime Jonathan made a super brief apparition among Marine officials in a canon arc. I am so happy you guys enjoyed it! Next stop is Long Ring Long Land (canon arc with some filler episodes, and those filler episodes I rec you skip) and then comes my favorite two arcs! Super hyped for what's coming!

The next arc, as people keep talking about here in chat, is called Long Ring Long Land, and it was a bit of a low for the anime production. It was also pretty weird in the manga, but reading it in comic format vs the drawn out episodes that were a bit padded with extra content were waeker. It also feels like movie 6 but no where near as good. If you watch any One Piece movies, watch the 6th one: One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. It's set around this time I think too.

I'm sure you guys already know that the next arc is controversial... but the one after that (Water 7) and the following arc are two of the PEAK moments in One Piece!! I recommend you to go through Long Ring Long land quickly.

LRLL is canon. The whole arc feels irrelevant to the rest of the arcs so far but I have a firm belief that Oda added LRLL for a reason. Perhaps something with the devyback fight?

It’s cannon and I think it’s nice downtime and good fun compared to the heaviness that was Skypiea and the heaviness that will be W7😂it’s always enjoyable for me to watch it, and seeing all these other fans saying to watch it makes me feel like I’m not alone on this😂every One Piece fan has to watch Long Ring Long Land at some point in their life

Dont skip the next arc. It can be a hard watch but without saying much there are plenty of theories on the end of the story that include the next arc as being an important one

Commander Jonathan is an absolute GOAT! He actually appears later in the series. The best filler arc in any show!! They really put passion into this filler...not to mention how hilarious it was! Great reactions!

I don't care what you do when it comes to watching this show. However, this show is number 1 on a LOT of metrics. So far you can almost see why. It is definitely fun so far. The biggest argument for not skipping anything is, this show became number 1 as is. No remakes no episode splicing. (these are coming and in the works) but still, it remains as the no. 1 spot. So is their a best decision when it comes to skipping arcs, maybe. But we do know watching all of it is undeniably an amazing one.

It is however a bit different than a traditional arc, the pacing is a bit eh and some filler content in between. No, I don't think you folks should skip it. However if it's ever possible, 3 episode schedule for this arc would be beneficial and much appreciated. Just my two cents. I hope you two have a wonderful week!

I don't get why a few people here are calling for them to skip the next arc. Even if there's less action, it's still a canon arc. Yes the anime made it longer than necessary and made some weird changes compared to the manga, but it still has a lot of fun bits imo.

Commander Jonathan has been the highlight of this arc. Makes me sad to think that he might not be canon (there is some debate, because he has a very short cameo in a later canon episode). I guess we should be happy with what we got. I know that some fans don't agree, but I love the next arc, including the filler part of it. It's just very silly and fun, in the best One Piece way possible. The villain in particular is a personal favorite of mine. 🦊

Outside of the first episode of LRLL arc, nothing of substance is really worthwhile there. It was meant as a type of gag filler b4 next arc and is y I wished they would have just skipped G8 if anything. Now we have to sit through another filler-esc arc.

The next "arc" is something a bit special in One Piece, but it should not be skipped. A lot of people will say it's bad, but it's really not. It's just a bit goofy with a few problem of pacing. It should be taken lightly as an appetizer for what is to come, you will need it. :)

Long Ring Long Land isn't filler (bad anime pacing aside), so it would be surprising if they skipped it. Despite how whiny some of the patrons seem to be. 😅

LRLL is *not* a filler arc so it should not be skipped, though there are filler episodes in the middle of it that at least warrant a discussion: I think skipping those would be okay, as would extra drops or something just to get through them quickly if possible. The issue is that they are mixed with the canon eps that follow and would make parts of those a little confusing. You could also just continue as normal and it wouldn't be the end of the world. People are just really excited to get to what follows. Also, nobody spoil them!! Pls and thx!!
