Well Luffy is kind of a special character among other manga and even literature. He is just th perfect mix of stupid, emotionally smart and all those things to make him a real force of nature. Not to say there are no other characters like that but Luffy is done exceptionally well imo. You could always have a lot of fun even if it was just Luffy for 1000 episodes

Please don't jump in front of a bus for these characters. I once jumped in front of an out of control car for my friend (still my best friend 30 years later). The car was swerving all over, hit another car and headed straight for us as we walked on the pavement. Sometimes your instinct makes you do the stupidest things. Mine made me put myself between my friend and the car.. as if I thought I could somehow stop it! The sensible thing would have been to get out of the car's path and make sure my friend came with me (because I can't stop cars with my body, if you're confused). So, please, don't jump in front of a bus for the characters. Get out of the bus's path and take the characters with you. You mean too much to me to let make my own stupid mistake. btw, luckily for all involved, the car swerved again and came nowhere near us, leaving me dangling in a catcher's position in front of my friend for no apparent reason. She never let me forget the time I thought I "could catch a speeding car". I used to have an extremely high IQ... but my instincts are those of a complete moron lol

This was kinda scary to watch. I don't process faces properly because of some brain damage from an accident. Without realising it I've come to rely a great deal on the outline of a person's head and face and the shape of their hair for recognition. I watched the beginning wondering who these people are who talk with Haylo and Kiss's voices... I almost didn't recognise you without the headphones! I forgot those things come off LOL Please don't do that to me again... or change your hairstyles... or your makeup... or anything at all while you have the channel. I assume that's not too much for a (ahem) top tier patron to request hehehe - I joke of course, but you are barely recognisable to me without headphones on! I had no idea I'd got so bad. favorite opening: "Hikari E", the 3rd one favorite arc: Skypiea. All arcs have great moments. But I love the adventurous overall feeling of this one. Otherwise it would probably be Arlong Park because of the first really amazing moments that made me fall in love with One Piece. favorite devil fruit: Flower Flower Fruit favorite Straw Hats: Zoro, Sanji, Robin favorite other characters: Smoker, Garp, Coby favorite combo: Zoro and Sanji desired island destination: Little Garden favorite overall moment: Nami stabbing the tattoo. Stabbing the tattoo was unexpected and so intense. All the pain, anger and desperation in that scene. That was fantastic in a cinematographic way. And the voice acting was so good. favorite funny moment: Enel's face favorite shocking reveal: If the anime would've stayed true to the manga for this one, it would've been Zeff eating his leg. Otherwise there wasn't really something where I was totally shocked. But maybe it's just difficult too me because I've seen it quite a few times. Maybe Laffite sneaking into the Warlord's meeting. Although it's not technically a reveal. But if you think about that someone can just sneak into that kind of meeting. favorite epic moment: Luffy holding the Kiribachi so tight that Arlong couldn't move it, because he was talking about using Nami. favorite Skypiea moment: Zoro doing the Tarzan yell.

i remember back in the day, skypiea were the latest episodes for me and I had to watch skypiea with really bad eng fansubs that had like half mistranslated and broken up english. I still enjoyed the heck out of it and was really surprised some people thought otherwise as well

What makes Eneru such a good villain was the entire concept of "God". The name of the leader of the island is called God, but theres also a constant comparison to actual God (We see the Skypieans praying at one point for a miracle). Eneru is what many religions and cultures worshipped as a God, lightning. He even uses those different lightning Gods names in his attacks. Until Luffy, he was certain nobody could ever survive a conflict with him as he cannot be hurt and can zap people dead very easily. He truly believed himself to be immortal, and thus treated everyone as the peons/ants he felt they were. Many gods in different cultures are not always depicted as good beings. They will easily stamp out a village to prove a point. Eneru is no different from some of them. But switching between him being the island "god" to being compared to an actual God made for an amazing contrast. He's very detestable, but his existence as the villain in Skypiea is absolutely perfect.

I'm so glad someone said it. Skypia always gets clowned on by my group of one piece friends as that bottom tier arc, but I'm so with you guys on this. The story of the whole thing from Jaya to the history behind Nolan and Kalgura to the symbolism of the bell in the past to it's new purpose in the future and closing the arc with the message that was kept from being sent generations ago. That is peak one piece and I honestly cannot believe anyone could say so otherwise.

Just a heads up since I saw you comment at the bottom that you might react to season 2 trailers/teasers for the live action.. there are a lot of YouTube videos of the cast out there where they hint at stuff wayyy further in the anime than you guys are. I’d recommend only reacting to trailers from the official account. I saw another reaction channel get a little spoiled because of this, they had to stop the video.. Great video though as always, can’t wait for the next few MONTHS of episodes coming up. I truly believe One Piece is the greatest work of fiction ever, and it’s not even finished.

No worries😂 It would be pronounced as “O-reem” instead of “Ori-em” in English. The first part is just the letter “O” and the second part rhymes with dream, beam etc. It’s pronounced slightly differently in Dutch, but that’s the closest version in English.

I loved this! I would definitely watch videos like this after each arc. And I agree, Skypiea had so many funny moments (the whole scene with Luffy and Chopper walking in the wood with their stick, and Luffy singing to himself later on were a vibe). Also, the binder thing is goal, Bon Voyage is also my fav, and I also think Usopp and Nami together are hilarious ❤️ thank you for that 😊

I had mentioned in one of their videos that I hated Skypia when I first watch it decades ago but my opinion changed after watching it 4 times again with different reactors over this last year. I really believe its very good now and sets the tone for OP going forward. Yes there are much better arcs coming but Skypia not the bottom of the barrel like LRLL is IMO.

Wow, excellent video! I absolutely loved, loved, loved this! I hope this is a regular thing for One Piece and other animes/shows/movies that you feel like you have to like really talk about stuff too. Congratulations on making it to 200+ episodes btw, time flies when you're having fun One of the funniest moments of the Skypeia arc is when you're first introduced to Pierre, and it transforms, you just see the shadow, and you guys are like "Omg it's a Pegasus!" and then they show the actual form, and you're all like "ughh..." LMAO, I was cracking up loll Also, and I mean this in the absolutely nicest way I promise, but I started cracking up when you sat back down with that huge, textbook sized binder lmao lmao (instead of like a notebook lol), for your One Piece notes cause it's so apropos lol. It'll become full before you expect it, there's SO much detail in One Piece that it's inevitable that there'll be a huge binder of notes and we're still technically early on. Also, do I really have to say that what's coming up is just going to be...insane? Probably not lol Again, loved this video, wonderful idea, and I truly hope you guys make more of this!

So, I'm going to be answering these questions based on how I perceived One Piece at the time I finished Skypiea for the first time. Favorite Intro: first one Favorite arc: Alabaster. Favorite devil fruit: Hana Hana no mi (flower fruit; Robin's devil fruit). Favorite Straw Hat Characters: 1. Luffy 2. Usopp 3. Nami. Favorite non crew Characters: 1. Vivi 2. Crocodile (I love to hate this man lol) 3. Dr. Kureha. Favorite Crew Combo: Luffy and Vivi. Desired Island destination: Conomi Islands (especially since Arlong's not in charge anymore lol). Favorite over all moment: Nami finally asking Luffy for help in the Arlong arc. Favorite funny moment: Luffy's "Islands are warm" song in Skypiea. Favorite shocking reveal: The giant monsters from Jaya being shadows reflected from Skypiea. Favorite Epic moment: Luffy literally punching Crocodile from the shadows into the light for everyone to see and the rain starts falling with his defeat (and the Alabastans finally stop fighting and hear Vivi's voice😭😭😭) . Favorite Skypia moment: Wyper finally trusting Luffy with ringing "the fire of Shandora" and giving up his body by using the reject dial for a 3rd time on giant Jack. Dial I would keep: Tone dials. I'm gonna add a favorite moment from this Q&A as well. It would be when Kiss was mentioning her favorite shocking moment, which was "shocking" when she found out that Pagaya (Conis' father) is alive. When it comes to reacting to the endings I would wait a few months. For one reason or another the last ending for a long while will conclude after episode 278. From there on the openings will be 40 seconds longer with zero endings. This will continue until episode 1071 when they start doing endings again. So, you might as well wait til episode 278 and then do a reaction video. And then that last ending from episode 264-278 the song is the same but the "visuals" changes for each one as it was planned to be the last ending so the animation studio decided to do something special for it. To put the years into perspective. 278 came out in Sept. Of 2006. 1071 came out in August of 2023.

I'm overjoyed that Ace was mentioned! He's my favorite character in the entire series. I just think he's a great older brother and just so incredibly cool :3 For Skypiea as an arc: I think it has a lot of important infos dropped and seeds planted that stay relevant for hundreds of episodes and that's what makes it cool. I personally just didn't like any of the fights, but everything else, the setting, the backstory and the impact, is really, really cool.

They already teased chopper. I think they will use cgi when he's in small form and the casted actor when he's in human form. But they'll probably keep him in human form most of the time for budget reasons.

Heso! Interesting question here. One Piece Live Action (OPLA) has started production and has recently released the cast for season 2. It's gonna kick off of Loguetown and end in Drum island. I think people don't like him being cowardly but he's trying his best! he's so sweet. surprised no mention of smoker he seems like a good marine that isn't gonna follow orders he doesn't agree with. also i love how much wildlife oda puts in his world it really makes it feel alive with the kungfoo dugongs or the giant drum rabbits. While it's not confirmed that Oda was inspired by this, Enel does share his name with something unexpected - an Italian electric utility company that services most of the country. It's called Enel, but that's not all - the company's name is written エネル in Japanese, which is the same way Oda's character's name is written. Kind of a perfect connection for a character with an electricity-themed Devil Fruit. Also, Vinland Saga is a great anime second only to One Piece :)
